Re: Eager to try Holy/Holier Panda switches!

It may be easier to get Durock T1 switches, they are almost identical in feel.

Maybe you can ask someone to model and 3D print a new wheel (with a space for the appropriate size nut)

Re: Beamspring from Hell Restoration Log

Do you still have access to that building?
It may seem impossible but I want to try my hand at an extreme PC salvage, some of the other boards there look interesting too.

Re: Alps restoration guide

I've had good luck with "WD-40 Specialist with PTFE"
It leave a slightly oily film instead of being completely dry like Dupont PTFE i've tried, it seems to work well.
I put some on the Caps Lock switch of my yellow Alps64 (mapped to fn) to stop it from binding and it hasn't lost it's smoothness.

Re: Computer Reset Conundrum

Also keep in mind that stealing is criminal, doesn't matter if the people trust you and there are piles of boards. Only makes it worse if anything. Let's see how "guilty" Red is. Zero evidence of "thefts" or other issues. No CCTV footage of "thefts" All claims of wrongdoing are by Justin or anon ac...

Re: Computer Reset Conundrum

The one box he "stole" from didn't have any name. Again, CCTV footage is the only way to prove he did anything ill. Or, you could keep believing these stupid theories put out by angry ageist old guys who self-admit they hate both young people and keyboard enthusiasts. What's next, did Russia collude...

From the VCFED page:
Why are they interested in buying crappy dirty keyboards for $5 when brand new ones are available for $5.99 shipped.
LMAO! Shows you the kind of people slandering and hating on Red. Reminds me of myself a little while back hating on a certain fanbase (over that now, thankfully)

Joined: Today, 01:47 Yeah, you are completely credible... Also I doubt you actually have CCTV footage. All you posted are rando comments on Facebook. You need to show evidence. None of what you are claiming would hold up in court likely. Mr Scott, if this is you, you should hire people to "properly...

Re: Computer Reset Conundrum

I'm going to side with Redmaus on this one. OP seems to have good intentions and did not deliberately wreck the place. If this "Justin Scott" is so sensitive to rageban someone about a few mistakes he seems to have other issues. Also, I don't see what's so bad about making a profit (and donating ~7%...

Are Alps SKBL Black very common? I got some Black Alps from Taobao and most of them don't have tactile leaves.

The best scissor keyboard I tried is from an old Dell laptop (it has METAL scissors instead of plastic, I can make a post if interested)
Likely not useful to you unless you want to use a Pentium III lol.

GOOD condition ALPS SKCM Orange or Salmon switch

I am looking to buy several good condition or near-NOS ALPS SKCM Salmon or Orange switches. They need to be actually tactile and consistent, not worn out and scratchy linear feeling (I would normally be fine with bending the leaves back but this time I need to observe the original shape of the leaf)...

Re: Rubber Dome Gateway 7000985 ALPS Plate mod

I was looking through Goodwill when I found this, the switching mechanism was pretty awful and mushy KeyTronic rubber domes, however I noticed the barrelplate was a separate piece and wasn't curved like some rubber dome boards with separate barrelplates, so I figured it would be fairly easy to make ...

Re: Rubber Dome Gateway 7000985 ALPS Plate mod

FR-4 I got made with JLCPCB, I made the plate dxf file with swills and imported it into EasyEDA to make a PCB that shape.
There were two holes I drilled manually and I actually got them pretty accurate. I will drill more for standoffs to attach to the top case as this will be a top-mount board.

Rubber Dome Gateway 7000985 ALPS Plate mod

I made an ALPS plate for the Gateway 7000985 rubber dome keyboard. This keyboard has a flat removable barrelplate so the internals can be modified with ease. I will work on a PCB next.
