that's sounds like the black rubber foil has deformed when you putting the keyboard together and it interferes keystrokes. suggest you to take the keyboard apart to make sure parts are put up correctly.

Re: READY - $10 - DIY Through Hole Universal Model F and Beamspring Controller
I have a question for everybody - I built one of these and had my F working for about 2 minutes, now it's not registering any keypresses at all anymore - even in the keypress util, it's got a threshold of 96 and all keys are "never pressed". Are there any debugging ideas anybody may have? I've chec...

Re: Sprung washer stack for bolt or screw mod?
I guess screw tension has minimal impact on membrane performance. The internal black rubber layer has already serve as tension buffer unless you ditch the rubber. I have done bolt or screw mod to several model m and none of them has screws falling out even without the rubber layer. I would say screw...

Thought I'd share some progress pics. Re: READY - Cheap DIY Through Hole Universal Model F and Beamspring Controller
I was thinking that capacitive sensing might be used to upgrade the ibm model m to nkey rollover. someone who owns a bolt modded model m could experiment with sticking kapton tape over a membrane contact (like how the varmilo switch is done), then using a capacitive controller to detect if the key ...

unless your f122 controller has malfunction, I prefer to use soarer converter instead of using xwhatsit. but if you use xwhatsit, better use 3.96mm pitch male and female header for the installation. will show photos on what I did to my model m with xwhatsit and headers.

Re: <Help> Model M bad tracking?
this kind of mild oxidation inside the membrane is normal for a keyboard over several years and should not cause any problem. I would suggest you clean the contact area that plug into the FPC socket with mild alcohol or pencil eraser(not the one for erasing ink). strong alcohol will remove the silve...
