The wiki has photos of the rear of a 6011 pcb, but not the front. In case it's useful to anyone:

Re: Rotating the M0110 connector

I have the cables, but Hasu's directions aren't clear to me. Am I wiring this straight or crossover? I removed the 4p4c jacks from the keyboard and the converter. The converter had its jack in the "crossover" slot and examining the cable that came with the adapter, it appears to be a crossover cabl...

Re: Changing Soarer's Converter data and clock pins

You could try TMK or QMK if you haven't already, since those are open source. There are some convenient tools like http://www.tmk-kbd.com/tmk_keyboard/editor/ for Hasu's TMK converters and https://kbfirmware.com/ for generating QMK controller firmware.

An Aeropress makes a good espresso-like cup without much acidity, so it might be a nice intro to black coffee.

But I hope this is something that you and her have discussed already, and you're not trying to manage her diet for her.

Re: Rotating the M0110 connector

I have https://smile.amazon.com/Electronix-Exp ... 00B4ZRPEY/ which I use for most projects. There are many similar options, but make sure you get one with solid wire, not 'stranded', which is much more annoying to work with.

I believe I would need to extend each wire by soldering in an "extension". Does anyone know or can recommend the type of wire I should use? Any other ideas on how to rotate this connector would be appreciated. If you're going to desolder the connector to rotate it, why not just solder new wires str...

I wish I knew enough about soarer's to be more help. I do see that your screenshots show Scan Code Set 1 when the docs say it should be Code Set 3: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=17458.0 -- suggests the board might have dip switches to adjust. https://deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?p=105282#p10...

Re: Send language layout from USB HID keyboard

Now I started wondering if it would be possible to tell the host which keyboard layout to use, i.e. EN-US, so that keycodes will always get mapped on the right character on every machine. Any ideas? Others have given you some advice on why this might not be a great idea. But I think it's possible, ...

Re: Configuring IBM Model (Terminal M?) Soarer's converter

I'm working on converting a terminal Model M at the moment, although with Hasu's TMK converter instead of Soarer's. Things to double check: 1. Is your pro micro 5V or 3.3V? (I messed up this time and bought a 3.3V pro micro. I had to recompile the firmware for 8MHz and attach the 5V wire from the ke...

One thing I did was use a schematic of a single capacitor connected to ground on both sides. I never got the issue you did but I think this may resolve it.
Thanks, I'll give that a go. Any other specific steps you took between importing the .dxf in easyeda and exporting the gerber files?

Thanks, I couldn't get it working in KiCad but I was able to do something similar with EasyEDA. I'll tell you how they work when they arrive in a few days. Can you share any more details about the steps you took? My problem is, I've generated gerber files via both KiCad and EasyEDA. With the easyed...

I'm hoping this guide can help ease the barrier to entry a little bit and get this project in the hands of non-technical / less-technical people. Re: Alps Appreciation

Of the issues you mention, the PCB would only solve KRO. Do you see yourself keeping it in rotation long term with the rest? I've read that removing the pcb and hand wiring reduces the ping substantially. I figure I could do something similar with some foam or rubber mat between the switches and ne...

Re: Alps Appreciation

https://i.imgur.com/tpPsSG3.jpg I bought this M0110 in the winter, and I'm at a crossroads. Like others, I find the ping and the angle are a bit much, and the KRO isn't very impressive (with hasu's converter, but I'm pretty sure it's limited by the pcb). So far I've added new rubber feet, put foam ...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Will say the case is very plasticky and creaky. A lot of flex. Not a very solid base for such cool switches. Still, glad I now own it! I wonder if the flex is a blessing in disguise. I did a 60% handwire with some MX-mount SMKs from taobao and bottoming out on the steel plate was pretty rough until...

Maybe they shouldn't put MX Silvers for the space bar or at least design specific cushioning/stabilizers for it? I wonder if there's some useful mod to the switches/stabs without taking apart the board? I've read about people using O-rings, do you guys think that could help with the hard bottoming ...

I know USB-B will be solid but I worry about a chunky plug sticking out the side. Hopefully it can be oriented to accommodate a right-angle usb cable.

Given all of that, the fact that this batch of white Alps is more consistent and also is not as affected by "actuating before the click" as the blues is what makes this batch better than my already-excellent blue Alps. Mostly just echoing the other replies so far. Get an Omnikey if you ever see one for a decent price. I wouldn't bother with a Matias board for anything other than their Quiet Click switches (ex. for work use), but they are one of the only off-the-shelf options.
