These kinds . One that mutes the headset entirely by shunting it when the dial is pulled back, and the other that flashes the hook switch off and on when returning.

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!
I'm really enjoying these PBT's I picked up. I really like the rounded bowl shaped type keycaps a bit more than the traditional shape now.

Re: Bottoming out sound ABS vs PBT
That's better. Still could use some deep ABS caps to really make it sing. Their thicc sound is their one and only advantage over my beloved PBT. ;) My finger oils just eat ABS plastic keycaps and end up turning them into glossy keycaps within a month. I couldn't go back to that unfortunately. Thoug...

I'm aware. That's why I still referred to it AS a 2-key rollover.
But the fact remains, no one brought up the elephant in the room.

Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)
4 pages about Model M's and F's, and no one brought up that Model F's are n-key rollover, and Model M's are 2-key rollover (sometimes 3, depending on which keys on the matrix)?

Re: Bottoming out sound ABS vs PBT
Well, a good fix for new PBT keycaps that don't stay on the switches, kapton tape to add stiffness. Just a little bit went a long way, now this actually is decent sounding in my opinion. What's weird is to the microphone it sounds sharper than it sounds from where I sit (a bit softer). https://strea...

Re: Bottoming out sound ABS vs PBT
*Sigh* I'm so over this. Got the keys, they sound good, but some keys just won't stay on the stems of the keyswitches. At least this is easier to fix than keys that are rubbing apart, but I'm so over needing to fix "new" things from China.

Re: Bottoming out sound ABS vs PBT
The WASD ABS caps are rather thin, the PBT's arriving are thick, so it might be interesting to see. I probably should try the o-rings a second time around, with the PBT's and see if perhaps it feels better. I'll do some keys with and without first and see which feels and sounds better by trying them.

Bottoming out sound ABS vs PBT
So as many have pointed out, WASD keyboard's ABS keycaps just suck. The keyboard firmware even sucks if you have the function key enabled (disabling it actually fixes any and all issues, go figure). Well, other than that the keyboard has been fine, but the keycaps had to go, and since my mouse usual...

Re: My new WASD Keyboard V3 has already died
I'm glad it worked out for you. Could be a bad solder joint somewhere, could also be a cracked PCB with that behavior. As an aside, it is funny you mention the DIP switch, on mine, the DIP switch was from a company called "ECE" which was a brand I've never heard of, I wound up replacing it with eit...

Re: My new WASD Keyboard V3 has already died
I watched your video, and my first inclination was to think your keyboard's behavior looked like a short from liquid spilled in it. Then I saw your comment that you may have drooled into the board, somehow I missed it. My guess is that that's probably exactly what happened, your saliva probably dri...

Anyway, I took a video when it was doing the erratic behavior: https://streamable.com/44i2mt (Headphone warning, at the end of my video the alarm clock for work went off, as I am currently on a workers strike and honestly stayed up all night drinking heavily as I wonder if I have a job come Tuesday ...

Re: My new WASD Keyboard V3 has already died
I ended up voiding the warranty sticker carefully to not intentionally leave the "void" behind. And took it apart. In no way is this keyboard worth the price they claim. No way, bill of materials is more in the key switches than the board itself. It's not a good design. But I do now know what caused...

My new WASD Keyboard V3 has already died
In what, half a month of use, my WASD Keyboard has already died. It acts like it's performing a factory reset every time it's powered on. Before it died it typed out a bunch of symbols, random letters and numbers, then a bunch of H's, and B's. Then since then it never returned. Also for half a month...

O-rings and heavily tactile switches feeling more like rubber domes
So I got my custom ordered Hylian keyboard which was build with Zealios 67g switches and I had o-rings installed, and while it feels great to type on, I can't help but notice it feels almost like a rubber dome keyboard, but not at the same time. Not like a disappointing feeling, but just how close i...

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!
Just got my custom ordered WASD keyboard. Went with Zealio 67g switches, and o-rings with 0.2mm reduction, and because I'm such a huge fan of the Zelda series of video games, I made my own layout with the Hylian alphabet based on A Link Between Worlds and Breath of the Wild. (Which unfortunately do...

Re: Ordering custom keycaps with custom legends.
I'll send them an email and see if they are willing to do it. I've already prepared my wallet that a supply and demand situation like this would be costly, but I really do want a keyboard to be unique to me, and nothing pre-designed, I really do want something now that fits me.

I'm always willing to pay, price won't be an issue. I found Max Keyboard might be able to do it, but I need Adobe Illustrator knowledge for it which I do not have unfortunately.

Ordering custom keycaps with custom legends.
Ok so this is a bit of an odd request/question, but I'm struggling to find someone who can make custom keycaps with custom legends (or fonts) on the keycaps themselves. I want to have keycaps that are using the Hylian alphabet (I'm a big Zelda fan), rather than a latin alphabet. I can read it so use...

Re: Soarers Converter and my Work Laptop
Ok I can confirm the monitors USB hub is causing issues with the boot time, plugged into a computer directly OR through a dedicated powered hub, it just works, and the TMK is working FLAWLESSLY now. I did notice the USB hub in the monitor seems to be tied to inputs, so when the PC boots up and switc...

Re: Soarers Converter and my Work Laptop
Guessing this is the Teensy 2.0 bootloader just taking it's time. Not so. You can verify this yourself by flashing the Teensy's default (and purposefully trivial) flash.hex back onto the Teensy, removing power and then seeing just how quickly it begins its flashing again when you plug it back in. T...

UPDATE: Same weird cold boot issue happening on work laptop, but only with the monitors USB hub, didn't act up on cold boot with the Surface Laptop 4's dock, which is at least one change so far so that's good. Starting to remember I had this SAME cold boot issue with my Das Keyboard as well with Win...

Re: Soarers Converter and my Work Laptop
Ok I flashed the TMK on a Teensy and installed it directly into the Model F this time instead of the external plug in Soarers adapter. Re: Soarers Converter and my Work Laptop
The dock isn't powered but it does have a PD input, not sure how that works with the work laptops charger though because the Surface Laptop 4 also supports PD charging and the dock does forward it to the laptop while taking 15 watts for itself.

Re: Soarers Converter and my Work Laptop
You could try running TMK on your converter instead. Here’s the XT layout in Unimap: http://www.tmk-kbd.com/tmk_keyboard/editor/unimap/?ibmpc_usb_32u4_xt Configure as you like, download the hex file and flash it to your Teensy / Pro Micro. Soarer’s converter is much better at macros than TMK (or QM...

Soarers Converter and my Work Laptop
So my work finally approved me in using my XT Model F and the Soarers converter for work after they inspected the keyboard and adapter, however it appears the Surface Laptop 4 I'm issued isn't liking it. We have to use a USB-C dock with HDMI on it and 2 USB ports, and with my monitor, keyboard and m...
