Re: Best Case/PCB for Alps Switches

I bought 110 NOS white alps and I don't know what to do with them. I want them to sound nice and I heard that using small 60% boards make them sound worse. What modern pcbs can I buy that are compatible with alps? I don't care what layout it is within reason anything between a tkl and a 40%. What t...

Re: Would it be possible for someone to recreate the SKCM blue alps switch?

Ok, I got replies from several manufacturers who say they will be able to do it! Durock seems to be the most likely candidate, but of course the moulds will be expensive to make. I am running an interest check to see how much demand there would be for these switches: https://forms.gle/yTruRbAyMXFCQ...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

How can you tell what switches are in monterey k104's? Can I expect white alps out of this keyboard? The keyboard is in the Wiki ;) White or Blue Alps, or White or Blue SMK Alps-mount. The latter switch used to be called "Monterey switch" because of how they used to be found in this keyboard in par...

Re: Alps Appreciation

After putting paper in my orange alps to stop them from clicking on the upstroke I got the idea to try and do the same thing with click leaves. My thought process was that if it silenced tactile leaves why would it not silence click leaves. I don't have a board with any clicky alps but I do have loo...

Where is the best place to buy replacement spring for orange alps? This was my first time delving into the world of modding switches and I think it came out pretty good all in all. I lubed and band-aid modded the stabilizers on my apple m0116 as well as lubing the switch sliders and upper housings w...

Re: Apple m0116 rollover

Yes, that is what "2-key rollover" means: the worst case of all key combinations. Weird issue. Have you tried combinations of keys far away from each other? BTW, the modifier keys should not be part of the matrix but on separate lines, and therefore not blocked or blocking any other keys. Edit: I w...

What is the rollover on this keyboard? I just bought one and I am using it to type this right now with a drakware converter. Re: Are there any boards with the f77 layout? /what is that layout called?

I just bought an apple m0116 it's my first alps board other than my pingmaster and I am excited to try out skcm alps. I liked the feel of skcc greens but I couldn't stand the profile and I think I would prefer tactile or clicky. I only just realized right now that the layout of the m0116 is essentia...

I've seen boards like that come with blue alps - but it honestly could be anything. hard to see cap profile at that angle. The seller responded and said that it was a uncommon clone board and it feels cheap but clicky, whatever that means. He won't remove a keycap edit: he came through it was futab...

I think that that layout would be so nice to use because I like having dedicated arrow keys, but I don't need function keys or a numpad. I also like that it is separated in a block something that you don't get with 65 percents, or at least not with anything that I have seen.

That is a crazy find. My favorite model f layout and layout in general. I don't mind dropping the F keys but having a nav cluster or numpad on the right is great without taking up much space. Reminds me of a tkl at layout or something even if that makes no sense

Re: Why do you need foam on your model f?

I bought another xt off of ebay that I got really lucky with and it has prestine foam. I cant say if it is just that or the lack of rust/cleaner in general, but it feels much smoother and the tactility is much more pronounced. typing on the board with no foam feels almost linear. The sound is much m...

You put floss in the springs of your board and it reduces the pinging. it's not the same as what you did
