Re: [IC] HADapter Round II (Pok3rFox, Diamonds, Splitkit) <= PRICES
Hey guys, before this discussion goes into the wrong direction. Of course, I have contacted Wodan before doing something like this and he has approved it. This is not trying to be a copy of Hadapter so some keys will be different. It is more the attempt to bridge the gap between a modern keycap set ...

Re: [IC] HADapter Round II (Pok3rFox, Diamonds, Splitkit) <= PRICES
I asked Wodan, if he would be ok with us running a similar kit. He said, it's fine as long as we don't call it HADapter.

Please, let's run this. I would help with organizing to keep strain off the former runners. I would be in for multiple kits.

The problem I have with MX Silent Switches (Clicking / Ticking)
Hi guys, I had a problem that my newly built 60 with MX Silent Blacks was not completely silent. Only a hand full of keys were actually silent as expected. The remaining keys gave off a ticking noise. Some more than others. This annoyed the heck out of me and fortunately, after two weeks, I was able...

Re: Massive noob looking to build my first keyboard!
Get a hotswap KBD67 from Kbdfans. They have a good reputation.
Re: ISO users
I am an ISO-DE user. Not because I am stuck with ISO, but because I am stuck with DE. If you want to build a keyboard that is usable in real life, it has to have the ÖÄÜ keys on it, sorry. If there was something like ANSI-DE, I would not have a problem using it. I am also sometimes a programmer and ...

Re: Restoring old Gaming Keyboards
Sounds good, for a tactile I'd say try out Outemu Ice Clear. I saw your post too late and had already ordered some Kailh Copper Speed switches... Maybe a moderator can merge your thread under mine so we can have one for all Gaming Keyboard restorations? Or could you repost your pics here? Of course...

Re: [WTS] Custom-built 60% ISO-DE (Wood Case | BOX Jade (lubed) | Filco Double-Shot ABS)
This board should be really attractive to beginners who do just want a nice looking 60. The layout is pretty much standard so that any keycap set, even Tai Hao for 35 € will fit on it because it has no short right shift, or arrow keys etc. Do not underestimate the programmability you get with this. ...

Thanks for your clarification and looking forward to the video(s).

Thanks for your input. I am also talking about the standard lubing routine for Cherry MX Style Switches in the community. (Not hating, just curious and wanting to learn).

Questioning the lubing of switches
Hi, I am fairly new to this game so it would be nice if you guys could answer a question. This guy from Cherry is stating that you should not lube anything but those two little notches in your switches because it will decrease the longievity. He says that Cherry style copies of switches often feel s...

Re: Kailh Switch Series, which one is your favorite?
You guys are right and maybe what I wrote was not 100% accurate. I just wanted to shed a light on Cherry's current strategy and the reason why I believe (based on the guy in the interview) we will not see any box switches with clickbars (using this as a metaphor) from Cherry any time soon (even thou...

Re: Kailh Switch Series, which one is your favorite?
This guy from Cherry is stating that their Development Department is full of prototypes and innovations. I guess Cherry is in a different league than Kailh. They will just bring an innovation to the market if they will sell millions of units like the MX Silent Switches (2015), MX Silver Speed Switc...

Re: BOX switches
I wish people would just stop fucking about with the notches to generate tactility. As I noted in my review of the BOX Royals, they feel good, it's just crazy that they had to resort to a bump THIS big in order to make a notch switch actually feel tactile. And now, as a side effect, they can't keep...

Re: BOX switches STILL cracking keycaps!
Do you think that a heavy dry lubricant could last? Or maybe if the plastic was made of that Teflon infused stuff that Dupont makes? I think we should ask this question to Mike from Novelkeys. As I have read on their website, Novelkeys now owns the tooling for the BOX Switches. Maybe to make sure t...

Restoring old Gaming Keyboards

I started off my project with an Ozone Strikebattle. Cherry MX Browns were desoldered and shiny thin ABS keycaps were removed. I soldered in ...

Which Keyboard is this?
You could try to disassemble the Case and connect the PCB via USB to a Computer. Then short the contacts with a pair of tweezers. If the keypress registers, all you have to do is to replace the switch.

In the US, use Novelkeys. In Europe, use Candykeys. Both are selling retooled only for sure. Even KBDFans seems to be selling retooled only nowadays. Just make sure you aren't buying pre-retool ones. Easier said than done. The retailers are NOT ever going to tell you that their stock is the cursed key-cap damaging ones. Yes, I think you are right. People need to look at this comparison. At the middle of the page there is a table with measurements. https://www.keychatter.com/2018/08/16/unpacking-the-kailh-box-switch-debacle/ It shows that the new stems of Kailh Box Switches are thinner than Cherry MX on average. On geekhack there is ample consensus that retooled box switches still crack gmk or OG keycaps. "all keycaps right away audibly crack on first insertion. I notified KBDfans about the problem, they said they will take it to Kailh.. (again..)." https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=96323.400 Jesus Chri...
