Re: Another Data General 6246-A

Hi, OldIsNew, may i ask if the 3rd generation leaf spring used in this keyboard are clicky? Or linear? I intend to believe its linear according to wiki info but better ask that for 100% sure. That matrix will save a lot of time to compile the hex with tmk. Good job. Thanks. The board has linear swi...

Re: Input Club Beamspring-like? new board

I talked to a couple people on Discord that tried the Silo beam switch prototypes. They reported it feels a bit more like click bar and quite a bit different vs the IBM design. I guess that makes sense when you shrink everything down so much. Lets hope they improve the final version before launch. ...

Isn't that what is supposed to happen on Mac when you hold Alt/Option and press an alphabetic key?
Sorry, I just change to MacOS from windows for few days, not familiar with it yet. Is there a way to switch them to like alt+a = select all status? Thanks.

Re: TMK keyboard firmware collection

Oh, I made a big mistake for the keymap_mario.c. No way for the row 3 and col 4 with a 12. Can't believe my stupidness. Solved now. Edit: another problem appeared: When flashing the .hex file to the teensy2.0 with teensy loader, it seems failed. Then I tried original blink_fast_Teensy2.hex as a test...

Hi, guys, need your help here. When I tried to compile for .hex file from the source code for a vintage kbd, error info was showed like this: In file included from keymap_mario.c:1: keymap_common.h:50:37: error: 'KC_12' undeclared here (not in a function); did you mean 'KC_F12'? 50 | { KC_NO, KC_##K...

Btw, the company must have profited a lot so that they could invest a keyboard with 350$ for their employee. Yup, it’s big money for sure. As for the bureaucracy, my now-former job had lengthy processes in place for these things, but they only had one or two keyboard options (volume discounts...

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

Hi, in this specific case.. I think the rarity, hype, and goodness of the board is still very strong. Still, at $1500 it is less expensive than the sellers other 3278 at $1900. I wasn't really commenting on the price of the board though, I just noticed the keycaps were in an odd condition. Understa...

Those keycaps are quite uhh strange. Wonder what happened to them. That's a German keyboard with IBM beamspring switches. Curiously, it looks like yours uses BLUE housings rather than the standard black. Looks very rough, but beamsprings are gold. Thanks, Chyros. Actually also my first seeing blue housing, thats interesting. I'll check whats like after disassembly...

Anybody here could give a shot for identifying and converting? Appreciate it. Looks like it was stripped down from an IBM 3741/3742 datastation. The original PCB isn't easily convertible so you might have to try manufacturing a new PCB and reuse the mechanical parts(e.g. the beamspring assemblies)....
