Re: Problem with IBM Model F AT - all LED lights light up, no key output

I have external Model F AT converter with female DIN5 connector. It had exactly same symptons (all lights on, no output) when it had wires accidentally touching each other. This was caused by that female connector's plastic cover being toot tight and squeezing the wires together inside it. I solved ...

Re: help me to get an unknown vintage alps keyboard to work!

You could also figure out the keyboard matrix with multimeter, make firmware for the matrix and then hook it up to a Teensy++ 2.0 (or any similar controller with enough I/O for full keyboard sized matrix) .

Received today two sets of Krepublic's new blank PBT Alps keycaps. https://i.imgur.com/1Neei4z.jpg They are the fullest option sets with both ISO and ANSI support and plenty of '3U space bar and split shift' type of options for small children and mentally ill adults. https://i.imgur.com/vUYpKOU.jpg ...

Just wanted to point out that the switches in these:

"SHARP MZ-1K04, Unknown oval alps switch, German layout caps "

are Alps SKFL.

Are you aware of the new Alps set that KPrepublic released this month?

Male 5 pin DIN connectors are easy to find on-line: For example from Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20190719125000&SearchText=5+pin+din+male&switch_new_app=y And you could just solder that male connector directly onto the pins on the PCB. AT has been my daily driver for the past three months, or since I finished the conversion. Hard to see anything else taking its place. In fact my interest in the hobby has gone down since I got it. Interesting figures.

Nordic per capita over representation, as always and on everything.
Despite danes slacking seriously.
Swedish-finnish as most popular non-english option is rather insane.

AEKII My father was journalist pre-retirement. Toshiba T3100e and a challenger Toshiba T-series computers were successful line of early ’mobile’ computers. They were kind of between ‘luggable computers’ and modern laptops. Keyboard conversions/mods I did while on a long sick leave.

In March, I was on a crosswalk on my way to work. Car hit me. This did not – technically- end my way to work, due to me being employed by the hospital that ambulance took me. It did however leave me with lot of free time, while my body recovered from that exchange with a car. Two months plus some we...

Re: Origin of each country's QWERTY keyboard layout?

In Swedish/Finnish layout, at least under Linux, Æ, Ø, Þ, Ð, ß and × are available with Alt Gr on A, Ö, T, D, S and * respectively, and µ on Alt Gr-M of course. These mappings are all very straightforward. If you have enabled the Compose key, you could use that to create — and ÷ . A decent word pro...

That keyboard is certainly not a Spanish (Latin America) keyboard (or any other Spanish layout).

The Control key -that I was talking about- is from Spanish (Latin America) Model M.

(most of other keys are from a 1986 IBM Wheelwriter with finnish/swedish layout)

Fully written Control is the best control (from 1996 Lexmark, Latin american spanish ISO).
