Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
Anyone have an idea on this big block of black. It has a 5pin din connector and no label at all. Has a funky line design on the back that I’ve never seen before. Is it some sort of cherry board?
Any help is appreciated!

Thanks man, in fact it is working out. So I’ll be getting the three boards and the omnikey indeed has blue alps and the unitek k151-L has vintage blacks. Can’t wait to try these out!

Re: Northgate Omnikey 102 Gold label question
Sorry, I'm a bit late coming in on this. I've been keeping a database of Northgate keyboards (also Focus, Monterey, and a few others) and here's what I have so far on Gen 1/Gold Label Northgates. 26 total on the list at present. 17 of those have blue SKCM switches, 5 have white SKCM, and 4 I don't ...

Re: Northgate Omnikey 102 Gold label question
Just for fun and to satisfy my curiosity I opened the switches https://i.imgur.com/Fgv9J9B.jpg The Alps Blue switch is from a 1987 board, the Alps White from a 1989 board. Practically the same, only difference are the sliders. Alps Blue sliders are dry lubed, Alps White sliders are not lubed but th...

$50. But stop hemming and hawing and just buy it already! It's not even that yellow! :evilgeek: In fact I’m still sorting out the price with him. Should be getting some news tomorrow. He also has other boards that I wanted to bundle up with the omnikey but his prices were pretty high. So I’m trying...

Re: Northgate Omnikey 102 Gold label question
Ok cool that’s good to know. I’ll try to research that a bit and see if it leads me to a definite answer.
If ever this board had white alps in it what do you think would be it’s minimal value?

2/3 gold label boards I’ve owned have had white alps >_<. Don’t know serial number or dates but can check when I have free time Well shit, I guess I'm a big ol dummy for never seeing that before. Re: Northgate Omnikey 102 Gold label question
It should be somewhere along the line of 100$ so I’m not sure if the board with white alps would be worth that so I would be close to not losing anything even if it had white alps.snacksthecat wrote: ↑26 Mar 2019, 23:12Is it at a price where you’re willing to gamble the money? Good luck by the way.

The AT has been fully restored. It has been taken apart, cleaned, derusted, painted, put back together and tested. In fact i'm writing this right now using it. I didn't mod anything on it so its an iso layout with everything authentic on it. The only new part is the foam because the original was ju...

Excellent counterexamples on both sides of the fence. It seems like the OP started high but was willing to negotiate until he was mobbed and baited into a defensive position. I don't see anything wrong with starting high if you're expecting to be low balled. There's a lot of people getting overchar...

Whatever the reason is for people wanting a beamspring the fact is that evidently people are willing to pay for them. In the end the sellers don’t dictate the market but buyers do. If people refused to pay top dollar for stuff the prices would just fall. It’s economics, supply and demand. Plain and ...

525 dollars?!? I don't even know what to say. I don't think that's honestly even unreasonable given how rare they are. If I wasn't getting rid of my beamspring I'd be pretty tempted. People pay ridiculous money for ugly artisan keycaps on Reddit; I know what I'd rather spend my money on. You're onl...
