Possibility of mounting SMK MX Mount on a modern PCB?

This is something interesting if it can be done.

Image

Notice the pin, it look like the pin layout of a Cherry MX! I wonder if people had done this before.

Re: Gaming Keyboard - Looking for Advice

- Filco are really good too. They made with heart of Japan if not Taiwan. At least on the website you can chose a Switches. - Steelseries Apex are really good too, especially the QS1 Switches but they stop producing them. a QX2 series are better than a Cherry MX. - Matias are also really good as wel...

makes you wonder about the possibilities of lubing ^^
It did make the keyboard sound quiet but at least the spacebar sound better. This is also great if your rubberdome keyboard feel sticky. Mine A1048 feel a little bit sticky but the lubing did the trick to stop the sticky key.

Re: Why modern keyboard feel and look horrible compare to the beige era keyboard?

I think the Model M have the most durable membrane mat of all. A1048 are really good but I have to agree that it can collect dust easily but it can also be scratched easily. yes, it might still be mushy compare to a scropius but it not so bad compare to a cheap dell keyboard. - But again Topre Realf...

Any mice that use a Japanese Omron D2F

Though I'm more of a keyboard guy. But, do you guy know any mice that use a Japanese made Omron D2F microswitch instead of Chinese Omron D2FC? and also Is there any different between D2F and D2FC?

Why modern keyboard feel and look horrible compare to the beige era keyboard?

I think I got to realize myself that most of the new keyboard are horrible and they need to be improved. There are a reason why that is: 1. Rubberdome now do not use a slider(Only Topre and Coolermaster Memchanical left) - in the 90s, a budget keyboard are dome with a slider which is BTC and Scropiu...

Re: Not Sure I'm Happy with Cherry MX...

To me a keyboard is like a butler: it has to perform perfectly whatever the task, and to remain unnoticed all the time. I always wonder why anyone would want a clicky keyboard. To be honest though, Cherry did make a good linear switch like red and black. Alp SKCL in other hand are not really that l...

Way too many non Alp keyboard enthusiast destroy them just because they think they are junk! White Alp probably next to become rare. and then probably a Cherry MX vintage black too!

Re: Not Sure I'm Happy with Cherry MX...

Cherry MX are nothing like Alp. Matias are even less like alp because of simplify switch plate. If there are alot of people demand for Alp Blue, so they need to make a modern version of Alp SKCM Blue. Unicomp can make a new Buckling Spring Model M so why not a New Blue Alp keyboard? - Also Cherry, i...

Blue Alps are not hard to find. They're just expensive.

The Dell AT101 has come down in price SIGNIFICANTLY after the big inflation of two years ago as well. Blue Alps will also go down at some point, I think.

Re: What's up with Alp SKCM Blue being so hard to find?

In reality tons of these keyboards are being thrown out every day I think this is the main reason why Blue Alp are expensive. They need to learn to reuse it or at least give it to a thrift shop or somewhere that is not a recycle center where they get scrap and destroyed. I feel like I born in the w...

What's up with Alp SKCM Blue being so hard to find?

The question that probably stuck in Alp guy's head: Why did Blue Alp are much rarer than The White Alp?

Possible Cause:

- Recycle Center Destroy them?
- Low Demand when then was new?
- Unreliable?
- Too old?

Blue Alp cost like $150+ and up to $700 on ebay!

Well, I guess alp deserve all cap because they are the best mechanical switch in the world. I cannot believe gamer have to use a Cherry MX and Rubber dome like Logitech G15 or any early gaming keyboard for gaming when Alp are much better.

Yes, but they only did it on either 60% or Tenkeyless (87key). So I am not sure if there are any custom case that will fit into a full-size Matias Tactile Pro PCB.
