Re: flowerlandfilms ELH-38 (Yellow Alps)

That is awesome! Thanks andrewjoy, i'd like to something a bit more elaborate for the next one, but I'm not sure what yet. I was thinking of getting a wooden case made for standard filco etc TKLs but do it as lots of layers of wood ( a bit like the acrylic cases.) End grain plywood can look quite g...

i have a cheap ps2-usb converter but that didnt worked either. if theres really difference i will try another. thank you.
is it an "active" converter?

Passive ones ( the little green or purple plugs that go on the end of the cable) wont work as they are just a passive pin adaptor .

Re: help me to get an unknown vintage alps keyboard to work!

Many modern PCs dont have real PS/2 ports, they are just on the USB bus. Try it through a known good PS/2 to USB converter. You need an active converter, search for " blue cube" PS/2 to USB or lindy also make some good ones. This is the famous "blue cube" many do not bother with it anymore as they u...

Hi, cool. I guess your coolant doesn't go straight from cpu to gpu, but to a secondary radiator first. You must have super high fps in fortnite :D That would make very little difference , its just simpler for routing the tube ( in this case anyway). As long as your res is feeding your pump it matte...

As was stated above make sure your converter is an active one. This one looks to be a new design https://www.lindy.co.uk/cables-adapters-c1/i-o-c125/usb-to-ps-2-converter-cable-p11390 but i have used the older style lindy one and never had an issue, even with two high powered devices ( L-Trac and Mo...

Re: Is Apple Extended Keyboard II good to start with?

Its a very good quality board, if you get relatively clean switches that is! Not quite as nice as an AEK1 but its still loverly. onrage > salmon when it comes to switches. Orange is to slamon what blue is to white. Think some AEK2s have cream alps , they can be good but get very nasty with dirt ( th...

Thanks! I'm going to get a multimeter and muck around with it. I'll probably ship it off, but a little measuring can't hurt. Make sure you get one with a good continuity buzzer (ideally a latching one altho that is usualy on the super expensive flukes etc), you will want to kill yourself if you hav...

You look so young ! I had a dot matrix printer in about '90 it was slow as hell but quite nice for the time , colour too. Dont remeber the model , i think it had acorn branding on it and the style matched to A3010 . It looked a bit like an image writer 2 i think . Not exactly the same but a similar ...

Re: Taking keyboard case to car bodyshop to have it painted

So one of the companies said they'd do it for £40 and it should take 10 minutes when they "get a moment". The other one said I'd have to prep the plastic first, then I'd be looking at around £20-£30. Is the first one just hoping to take my money and do a quick coat of paint that won't last? Need so...

First off if your going to try it yourself get good quality paint, there is nothing worse than you doing everything right and then having crappy paint not work. I have used this company in the past ( they had a different name tho) https://www.dcpaintsolutions.com/ I spoke to a guy named Darren there...
