I also face the intractable problem of the rusty springs, no helpful solution after searching whole forum.

Tried vinegar and WD40 also, still like shit.

What a fantastic job! Good show old chap. There looks to be some issues / corrosion under the solder mask, you think there is anything that can be done about that ? There is not much... nothing you can do about corrosion under the soldermask. It's due to delamination humidity age moisture etc. The ...

Re: SKCM brown tactile leaf question

Could it also be that the dummy switch plate that acts as the tactile element adds more stability to the slider ( as its physicaly more substantial ) making the switch feel better as there is less movement in the slider so its more consistent and therefore smoother?

Re: SKCM brown tactile leaf question

Browns have a totally different tactile element than any other alps. Its not just a bent metal leaf , it has a plastic part that a piece of metal fits over https://deskthority.net/wiki/Alps_SKCM_Brown They are not very common. Cannot say how they feel as never used them, but they apparently they fee...

Many keyboard enthusiasts started out with Filco, years ago, but there are many good alternatives these days. I would get a Leopold or a Ducky. Anything costar like , with decent build quality is good :) I prefer filco but if you can find the same quality for less go for it. This is the list of dro...

Vacuums baby - always suck, never blow. I would recommend against this, i mean if its all you have go for it, but digging through a whole vacuum bag looking for keycaps and stabilisers is nowhere neat as fun as it sounds... trust me. Is the wyse 50 complete with all caps and stabilisers ? There's only one stabiliser for the space bar since all the >1u keys are stepped. It does have all the caps and that one stabilizer. US layout i am guessing ? I am interested , if we can get it to the UK for a less than insane shipping price .

The foam just stops the reverberation in the case.

You would need to "floss mod" the springs for that.
