I wanna sell my ALPS AKB-3320. It's a special version with (I assume) Kanji & other additional sublegends. Overall condition is good, the switches are smooth but the housing isn't spotless.

Has been like that for me since approximately two weeks or maybe even longer. At least some pages on the wiki are readable with the Google translate mode ("translate this page" next to the title on google search).

Might just be some gunk crumbles from the insulating foam that got stuck on the pads. I know that happened to me, but I realized it before putting it back together

Never heard anything like this. Sounds like something might be sticky inside of the switches that prevents the capacative pads from separating from the pcb. I'm afraid you will have to open them. (Maybe it's not necessary to take the individual switches apart, though)

A great find! I have some other keypunch "data entry" style keyboards (no "return" or "enter" key) with hall effect keys. Sadly, I prefer "clickey" tactile feedback keys such as the ever-loving model M. Photos are on my web site http://ferretronix.com/tech/mohawk_data_systems/
