Re: Key Communications Cherry MX Unsaver type keyboard conversion advice.

Some google turned up this, maybe it was originally attached to lab equipment. Key Communications Services, Inc. designs, manufactures, distributes, and services lab results and communication products for hospital based labs. As of 12/31/1998, Key Communications Services, Inc. was a subsidiary of Pr...

Re: Soarer's converter and FN key

I'm by no means an expert, but my experience is that you have to sacrifice the key you use as the function key. I use num lock on my XT, as I've discarded the number pad and mapped it more like a TKL. You could also use the caps lock and use Soarer's trick of mapping both shifts to caps lock.

Re: Great/Interesting Finds

I have no idea what this one is. Maybe an 80's terminal keyboard?

Re: IBM Model F Terminal keyboard

Some TLC and some JB Weld will fix that. A new space bar and tab key, and you're set. I like the unusual keycaps.

Re: [Giveaway] The Boneshaker (NMB PC-122)

Snacks: Take this keyboard, but beware it carries a terrible curse... Ooooh, that's bad. Snacks: But it comes with 122 keys! That's good. Snacks: The extra keys are also cursed. That's bad. Snacks: But you get a Soarer's Converter! That's good. Snacks: It's been programmed with a randomized scb file...

Re: IBM Terminal M cleanup and conversion

Great work with the NumLock light! I just wish I knew how to make the light come ON when NumLock was OFF, since I never want it off and need to know when that happens! I would think that would be doable with modifications to the controller firmware. I've only used Soarer's, but perhaps you could co...

IBM Terminal M cleanup and conversion

Came across an early 1992 Model M from a decommissioned AIX box. Has the ethernet type plug and no LEDs. Wanted to make this completely reversible, so I decided to pull the original cord and wire a teensy with Soarer's to a connector. The teensy then plugs into the original controller and the usb ru...

Model F date markings

I recently picked up an F XT fairly cheap (It's a bit rough, both feet are broken, and the DEL key is missing) The plan is to clean it up, remove the AT cord and wire in a Soarer's to a F mini jack. The plate shows some rust spots, but I was going to forgo ripping it apart if it worked ok. I came ac...
