5576 Keyboard-2 (Ricoh/IBM OEM) Alps Plate Spring

This one is RICOH branded but there are identical ones with IBM labels as well. http://ide-research.net/keyboard/keyboard-review/ibm5576/5576-002/ (there is a video in that page) Overall, it is a very interesting board with nice caps (the 2-part variety), and very interesting switches. They are clic...

Re: Leading Technology SMK 2nd Generation (mx mount)

Mmm, da purple. <3 I love the SMK 2nd Generation switches, as well. So effortlessly crispy, like biting into a Granny Smith apple. This is a very good analogy. Each keystroke feels and sounds so nicely snappy. The color was a great bonus and now that I am using this more, I really like how the type...

Leading Technology SMK 2nd Generation (mx mount)

I just got this keyboard from Zed (massive thanks for everything) and it features one of my favorite switches, the clicky SMK 2nd gen. I have a custom with the same switch in Alps mount that I bought from someone on MM, but it was in a UK ISO layout on a Varmilo case- so it is both cramped and I cou...

necropost from hell ... sorry
I see one for sale here in Tokyo now, and I wonder how to connect it/make it work with a modern machine. The sale item even has 2 or 3 of the original cartridges

Re: Is it possible to mod a keycap to fit a different stem?

They definitely look rounder and deeper - the legends / sub legends look great as well.

There was another Alphameric set for sale in the forum by Aran I believe— it has a different but also nice looking keycap set

Re: Is it possible to mod a keycap to fit a different stem?

I actually don’t know how different they are from SA but the alphas look like they have deep bowls (unless it’s a lighting effect). Other than that I can’t really say since I do not have them physically.

Pad printing is one way, but then a lot charm will be lost

you could 3d print some kind of adapter but the keycaps usually end up being a little taller
thanks for the answer. I guess that would be the way.
I guess the first step is getting those caps... of which I have no idea then somehow learn about all 3d printing!

Is it possible to mod a keycap to fit a different stem?

There are these keycaps I saw in a video from Chyros and they just struck me as beautiful. Now, I do not have them but, was wondering - should I ever get my hands on something like this, how difficult would it be to mod them to fit a more common stem type, such as Alps or MX? https://cdn.discordapp....

a view from the top would make it easier to identify, but considering the japanese keyboard, I'd expect Alps SKBM White
thanks for the reply. I will take a more detailed photo when it arrives. As far as keyboards here go, it was on the less expensive side (under $50) and looked very clean

Hello everyone I’m new to this world and recently got this keyboard in Japan. I’m still waiting for it to arrive, and I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of switch this one is ? It is from what is called a Scythe SCBK06 using a true JIS layout. Like ISO but with more rad keys https://cdn.discor...
