Re: Clicky MX Advice
It's the click mechanism (like the click bar) that differentiates clicky switches from tactile switches. It provides auditory feedback to (hopefully) match/sync with the "bump" of a tactile switch, or can be the same mechanism that provides the tactile bump, which is what you see with BOX switches ...

Re: Round 5: The Cappening
Just about any Cherry MX Keyboard will take these aftermarket caps. Read around about mechanical keyboards and I’m sure you’ll discover them. How do these people do it? Is there anyone I can contact to buy one keyboard and where to buy these keysets? How are the people in this thread do it, where t...

Re: Best Case/PCB for Alps Switches
I've been exploring this for a few months myself, and there are only a few Alps-mount PCBs regularly in stock, mainly LFKeyboards' SMK ones (SMK and Alps mount) and a few other MX plus Alps capable ones (e.g. Kprepublic's XD87). Other issues are you need a compatible plate and keycaps. You can get a...

Love the desk! Also clean setup overall, I like it a lot.
Looking at the tower, I was like, "but oh, this poor guy has a piece of crap comp-." *clicks on link, scrolls*
Guess that's the point of a "sleeper", though.

Re: Would it be possible for someone to recreate the SKCM blue alps switch?
I'm in, but I think we need a lot of Alps fans on board. Is the IC cross-posted elsewhere?
Planning to send a blue Alps keyboard to a prominent techtuber soon, by the way - hopefully more Alps exposure will help demand for a true modern version.

Topre or a Topre-clone like this: https://www.amazon.com/ABKO-K935P-45g-Capacitance-Nkey-Rollover/dp/B06XCGJNGM No, it's not the same as Alps, but I think a very good rubber dome will likely be the best option for a compromise between sound and feel. Silenced Topre isn't silent, but I've found even ...

Re: Alps restoration guide
I use Noctua NT-H1 and NT-H2. It's one the best overall in terms of ease of application, no burn-in required, and performance. Thermal Grizzly is better but not as easy to apply, plus Noctua includes the paste with their coolers, so I usually have at least one tube on hand. (speaking of which, my ne...

Re: What is the best chair to stay 12 hours a day typing on the keyboard?
So now I've been directed to The Chair Thread I guess I'll ask my question here too! The title could apply to me: I spend a lot of time at my desk, but not all in one go. I do tend to get up and wander about quite a lot, and the longest I'll set in one, er, sitting is maybe 90 minutes to two hours ...

Any easy to disassemble/paint mice?
More likely dye than paint, but looking for a mouse that's easy (or relatively easy) to separate body from the components. Preferably a Sensei-style mouse that isn't too heavy, but need not be ultralight (though I don't mind those new swiss cheese mice).
