Grounding issue, try to adjust the nut that grounds the keyboard, inside the board there is a black cable with a metal O connector. The future solution to this issue is replacing the original pcb with a xwhatsit or the new model f/beamspring logic board created by kmnov.

MX Brown Vintage is actually very good, I'm using a Compaq MX 11800 with that switch right now.

I just finished restoring my other beamfoot. The plastic top case was already repainted, but all the internal hardware completely restored as you can see in the following images.
