Re: IBM Beamspring keyboards, generational differences
I can confirm this, I don't have photos now, but I can clearly see a lot of differences on my 3278's boards. And it's very noticeable, for example, 3 3278 that I have are made full of zinc metal, except of one, that is made of the same plastic of your old 5251.

Re: Oldest Model M In The World
My oldest Model M is a terminal one from 1987, it has the same metal plate like yours with that zinc process! It's beautiful, I have to restore it, but the new beamsprings acquisitions threw that restoration away :D But as a collector, it's very cool to have an early Model M in the collection. Some ...

People should appreciate more this Model F variant, for me is one of the best. It has a solenoid included, a good layout and it's sexy. I have two of them, one restored, it's quite a job to make it work but with the new Pandrew's board you can adapt it very easy. Good restoration, enjoy your new boa...

Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)
I use my beamfoot everyday for working, and I keep switching my Model F77, Bigfoot, 3178 and 122 so... I don't understand why people keeps complaining by layouts... I've never had a problem with that. (Software developer here) In my personal opinion, Model Fs are 10/10 keyboards, the best of the wor...

Re: $400 for buckling springs: do you get the F77 Repro or the F122 original? Here's what I think.
I have an original F77 and let me tell you that the typing experience is unique. Very similar to the F122 but more solid in the last one. if you ask me, I prefer both. But, If I'd have to choose between the F77 replica and the F122, I'll go all day with the F122.

Re: Damaging 1981 computer keycaps with retrobrighting technique
Sorry but I don't understand why would you apply the retrobright technique if the plastic will return to its old "yellowish" color? I did several retrobrights and after some time, the old color returns.

Re: Vintage Increases Value?
But think this way, why a collectible card (it's just a piece of paper) can cost, say 100.000 USD? Like a Pokemon one. So, why not an old rare Keyboard that could be used as a daily board cannot cost more than that? Like a classic car for example.
