Can't get some keys on Model F to stick to spring
So I just restored and converted a 122-key IBM Model F and I'm having trouble getting the Enter key (and a few other keys near it) to actually catch on the spring and register a keypress. The switch itself works, I can activate it with a pencil. I had no problems getting other keys to catch, and eve...

Re: [US] 122-key Model F
I know these are hard to come by and are super inflated on ebay, but I'm really hoping to fetch a good condition 122-key Model F for under $350? Idk if that's super unreasonable or not. You're in luck, she's selling some for $299 including shipping. From the outside, they look pristine. https://www...

Re: Totaly new to DIY keyboard conversions, working on a Model F Bigfoot
ah, that's unfortunately no longer maintained, i would suggest the QMK converter for the 5251 (I wrote it :P) there's unfortunately not really a way to avoid writing some amount of code, as i think even the QMK configurator is still a little bugged I got the other board flashed. I definitely fried ...

Re: Totaly new to DIY keyboard conversions, working on a Model F Bigfoot
Okay so apparently I have a pro micro even though the ebay listing definitely said teensy. I think I got the hang of the wiring, I'm mostly hung up on flashing the board now. Avrdude keeps spitting errors at me :c

Totaly new to DIY keyboard conversions, working on a Model F Bigfoot
So I got a few Model F's that I want to convert. I ordered a few Teensy boards off ebay, downloaded Soarer's Converter files and I think I'm already to go. Then I realized that I have no idea what I'm doing. What wires connect to what part of the Teensy? What about on the Model F? Currently I have a...

Have you considered 3D printing one? There's full models on thingiverse and they work really well.

Re: What's this IBM floss mod I keep seeing mentioned?
Yes. It's in the wiki . It removes the ringing but keeps the click. A length of fuzzy dental floss is inserted into the spring. I've done it on a IBM M2 and can confirm that it works. I have also heard of people lubricating their springs with thick grease to achieve the same thing, but I think that...

What's this IBM floss mod I keep seeing mentioned?
So a while ago I did a floss mod to my Model F to fix the space bar without having to completely disassemble the thing. I drilled holes into the keywells of the spacebar and threaded floss through it to grab the retaining bar and hook it into the slots in the spacebar. I've heard floss mods mentione...
