Re: GH60 and voltage problems

Nevermind, it seems it was a firmware issue. I was initially using EasyAVR. I decided to give it a try to GMK and all the keys are working just fine (which is a huge relief).

[Solved]GH60 and voltage problems

I had laying around an original GH60 PCB (from the original GB, that one that went South and was salvaged in extremis), so I decided to solder some switches and put it into use. Before starting I tested the PCB and it seemed to be working (basic keys, some modifiers, etc). When I finished the solder...

Linear XMIT HE keyboard, possible to make it clicky?

I got one of the XMIT keyboards form the first Massdrop batch, but I have not had it with me until now (long unrelated story). I'm still getting used to it, and after watching some videos about HE switches I have learnt about the clicky version (it looks like these original HE switches would only re...

Re: Broken microcontroller: what to do next

The MCU is QFP, I resoldered one side of the chip using the drag soldering technique, I will go back to it when I have the USB connector working again and see what happens.

The MCU seems pretty obscure, so the chances to find a replacement are almost 0, I fear.

Thanks again for the advice!

Re: Broken microcontroller: what to do next

Hi! I really appreciate the advice :-) Before reading your replies I tried to resolder the troublesome pins in the MCU (time ago I practiced this with small SMD stuff) Funny fact: after this the troublesome row started to work for a minute and then started to degrade and die again after this. Now I ...

Broken microcontroller: what to do next

I'm opening this thread to get some advice (or at least receive some comfort). >1 year ago I bought a cheap DIY keyboard kit but I only assembled it recently. The PCB had the microcontroller, resistors and so already soldered, so I just threw some switches and LEDs at it. The resulting board was wor...

Re: Free stuff

Sorry for the late replies.

All the boards are gone, the user rotovator got the stash (he is also located in Spain, so shipping costs were considerably lower), in exchange he has made a donation to Deskthority. Thanks rotovator.

To the rest of users, thanks for your interest.

Free stuff

I want to get rid of the following keyboards and components, so I'm charging just for shipping costs (all this material is located in Spain) * Keyboard with Futaba switches, Spanish layout, PS1 connector. It is yellowed and requires cleaning (it has the remains of stickers and so) but it has some po...

I have a couple of things I would like to put a realistic price: * Poker 2, ANSI, MX Brown, in really good shape and with its original (and never used) thick PBT keys (with ugly font) * Cherry keyset, German ISO winkelyess, lasered thick PBT. I know being lasered makes it not that much desirable. Th...

A nice ISO GH60

I just wanted to show a small keyboard I got not long ago. I'm just the lucky buyer and assembler, most of it is the result of the nice work of Txepox, from the small but merry Spanish keyboard community, he got PCB, switches and stabilizers and did all the soldering and initial programming. The cab...

In Spain you only hear that in the South :-D You can be creative and add the adjective "Seco" to remove any trace of dignity. But for me the effect is almost comical (while still being an insult).

True. There is a limit. I don't support the idea of Japanese prefectural flags (as flashy as some of them may be), or the various counties of Scotland, England or wherever else. But some non-nation states are definitely worth recognition. The nations in waiting! Such as the Basques: https://upload....

If it is really a scam, I really wonder what may lead a person into doing something like this. He had spent quite a lot of time and effort making several PBT GBs happen. Re: [POLL] Which thumb do you use for the space bar?

My rule of thumb is.. (ok, that was an easy one), right. I was taught to type with old and purely mechanical Olivetti typewriters, so I guess the habit started there.
