Cherry MX Black Switches Available
Recently while helping a friend clean out his dad's storage unit with over 20 years of accumulated computer related items. I was able to pick up over 50 various keyboards. Among those I was able to get were 15 Wyse and Ultimate (a Wyse brand) keyboards. These keyboards all have the Cherry MX Black k...

Where to put information on ULTIMATE (WYSE) keyboards
I just picked up several keyboards branded ULTIMATE. I thought they looked a lot like some of WYSE keyboards I have. I opened one up and found that internally it was a WYSE keyboard. I'd like to share this information on Deskthority, but I'm not sure where I should put it. Just where should somethin...

ADDS Keyboard 1010
I just picked up a dirty used ADDS model 1010 keyboard, but I don't seem to be able to find out much about it. The one I have is similar to one that is currently up on Ebay by someone based in Cyprus. Mine also has what appears to be the Green Alps switches. It does have all its keycaps. I haven't h...

Black ALPS Switches
Hi, I am going to take offers on the two sets of Black ALPS keyswitches that I have. They are on the PCBs, but the plastic frames have been scrapped. One of the boards is not in very good condition. There is just one Keycap for the board in poor condition, but most (not all) of the keycaps are on th...

What is this Double Shot Keycap?
In looking over the scrapped keyboards that I have, I found this one with the Double Shot caps. I've tried to find it looking through the various ones mentioned on Deskthority, but couldn't find one like this. The KB appears to have been a Keytronic from 1986. Any help will be appreciated. DoubleSho...

Double Shot KeyCaps
Hi, I also have here a Sejin KB (minus the frame) with white Futaba MA keyswitches and Double Shot keycaps. This is an 84 key KB that was rescued from a scrapper, but has had the top of the PCB board torn off. The keys appear to be a little dirty, but are in excellent condition. I'm not sure what to...

Re: Space Invader Keyswitches
Hi, in looking over these KBs, I find that the keys do indeed click when pressed and released. There are only 108 keys on these KBs and the PCB is not marked as being a 725 series board. The keyswitch under the space bar is Neon Green. Hope this helps with understanding the KBs that I have. Thanks f...

Re: Space Invader Keyswitches
Hi, thanks for letting me know there is some interest. These are KBs that I rescued from a scrapper. He was ready to scrap them and had broken off the top of the PCBs. Three of the boards appear to be in OK condition while the other board appears to have been stained in some manner. The keyswitches ...

Space Invader Keyswitches
Is there any interest in the Space Invader Keyswitches from the NMB Hi-Tek keyboards? I have four boards, minus the plastic frames, which have the white switches. Three of them have all the keycaps, the other one is missing one keycap. Let me know if there is any interest and I can provide photos an...

Re: Dead Keyboards
Ok, here's some more information on my issues. The computers I'm using are ATs. And I will admit that I have been doing hot-swaps to change KBs. I did not realize that I should not do this with these vintage KBs. The KBs are: Compudyne, KPQ-E99AC, FCC - EW4KPQ2479A (2 of them) Compaq, DeskPro 286 (n...

Dead Keyboards
Hi, I've just run into a problem I need help with. I managed to pickup about 10 vintage keyboards that have been in storage for over 12 years. These are the KBs with the Big Din (5 pin) connectors. In testing them out with an old untested 386 computer, 3 of them were either dead or the computer "kil...

Re: Cherry Keycaps Fraud
HI, thanks for your response.... I sold it to him for $300, plus shipping. He seemed real eager to buy it, perhaps that should have alerted me. Plus he had just become active on Ebay 4 weeks prior to him bidding on my keyboard. I've been selling on Ebay for about 20 years now and have never had anyt...

Cherry Keycaps Fraud
I just want to alert the members that I recently sold an NCR keyboard with Cherry MY keyswitches on Ebay. The buyer found a problem (real or imagined) and wanted a refund. I said OK, just send me back the keyboard and I'll refund your money. The buyer sent me back the keyboard alright, except he did...

Key Cap Identification
I have been looking for some information on the markings on the inside of the key caps. I have noticed some key caps have them, and some don't. Is it possible to identify the key switch from the key caps? I know the caps can be different than the original caps that came with the switches, but I beli...
