Re: IBM 5324 Model F Keyboard
Update (probably last one) (added more pics and stuff to original post): Finished restoration Gave up trying to convert the protocol because the og controller has limitations anyway. Instead I put QMK xwhatsit and solenoid And finally, a side by side with a bigfoot: https://i.imgur.com/TSH9Hxx.jpg T...

Re: IBM 5324 Model F Keyboard
Update: Beginning conversion attempt (updated original post; see 'Conversion' section). Seeking any ideas for how to continue. Worst case ontario I can just stick an xwhatsit onto the conveniently placed test points on the rows and columns. If I take this route, do I need to remove the original chip...

This keyboard appears to have been made in 1967, not long after Raytheon started making their own keyboard switches. But this keyboard is made by NAVCOR, not Raytheon. Come on, you can't post porn without telling us what it feels like. Mushy, tactile, linear? Forgive my lack of manners Travel distance feels pretty long (i like), bottom out nice and solid but not so "clacky". Sound is nice but since it is mag reed there is a faint squeak from the contacts opening/...

Forgot to give an update
It worked perfectly for about a week, then a key on the bottom row failed. Didn't bother fixing it as the 2KRO drives me crazy anyway.
Thankfully I recorded a typing video while it still worked, finally got around to uploading it:

Re: Early membrane buckling spring hammer type in IBM 5441 keyboard
I found my "cushionless" wheelwriter flippers in my First Edition Wheelwriter 3. I assumed they were in all wheelwriters but they seem to be uncommon. I also find them to have a longer travel distance and harder bottom out, like an f. But they are just as heavy as any other m. Wheelwriters also omit...

I got an f122 case with a crack as well as a chunk missing (on which was one of the tabs for holding the bottom case) At first I tried using jb weld but because it's a high stress area it didn't hold up when i tried to assemble it.
