Sticky Beamspring Switches

Has anyone else encountered beamspring switches that tend to stick? If the key is not pressed for a short time it will depress without a click. If I press hard it will click and then will be fine for a few minutes if it is repeatedly pressed. When left unpressed for a few minutes it returns to stick...

[SOLD] IBM 3276 with USB QMK Conversion

[SOLD] Hi Everyone! I have an IBM 3276 beamspring keyboard for sale. All keys are working and registering. Signal levels are good. Three keys are missing and the cursr/blink key is chipped. Some areas where the paint is worn from use although not all the way through and a couple small minor chips in...

Re: Price Check: How much is my _____ worth?

I've got an IBM 3276 I will be putting up for sale. Not sure what these are bringing. Converted, tested and working. Missing three keycaps, there's a chip on the cursr/blink key, and some slight discoloration where the paint was wearing thin on the wrist rest and a couple other spots. Other than tha...

IBM 3276 Manufactured Date

Does anyone know of a way to determine the date of manufacture for an IBM 3276 keyboard based on the part numbers on the internals? I am an idiot and lost track of which case goes with which on two units I was cleaning up. Most of the numbers are identical but one does have G322 while the other has ...

Re: Beamspring daily drivers?

Jumping in late here but couldn't resist. I am using a 3276 as a daily driver I am also using pandrews controller with QMK programming to get the functions I needed. He was fantastic and patient in helping me get set up. I use a separate numpad located on the left side. I do a lot of spreadsheet and...

Re: IBM 3276 versus 5251

I also should note that there is no dedicated numpad on the 3276 I am considering.

Re: IBM 3276 versus 5251

Thank you for all the input. These are exactly the opinions and information I was looking for. I should note that I use an independent numpad set on the left side of whatever keyboard I am using and would likely do so in this scenario. I have factored this into my consideration so it is interesting ...

IBM 3276 versus 5251

Interested to hear your thoughts. Let's say you had the opportunity for one or the other. Which would you pick and why? Particularly interested to hear from those that might have one of these as a daily driver.

Re: What are your keyboard projects for 2021?

2020 leftovers...still have two 5291 Model F's (Bigfoot) that need restoration and conversion, and a Zenith that needs restored. New for 2021...finally after much searching was able to find a 3276, so restore and conversion on that as well as restoration on the terminal. That will be enough to keep ...
