Hi,
I've just got this keyboard. It is a Unisys model PCK104-SKB, but I don't really know what kind of switches are these. Dome with slider maybe? Sorry about bothering anyone if the answer its too obvious.
It is this one

Re: Need recommendation for new keyboard

- clicky
- smooth
- light weighting
- flexible layout
- nice build quality.

=> honestly a custom 60% HKKB style with Kailh box white switches fits all your bills here. Or whatever 60% layout for that matter because that is the beauty of custom: you make your own choice.

Re: Pinging sound on red cherry MX and opening switches

Hi, There are two kind of plates, one that allows you to open the switch from the top, and one does not. Filco stock keyboards use the latter therefore you wont be able to open it without desoldering. The only way I know of, which exclude desoldering, is to insert the lube inside the switch with thi...

Re: Adventure in Rest0bright

I guess it depends on the caps. I retrobright my wyse caps recently with 12% h2o2 and results came in only after about 3 hrs.
I was able to put it directly under sunlight, because even though it was sunny the temps was only 20c outside.
Results came out pretty gud.

I have no idea, I thought I priced it pretty well, and it is basically NOS condition
It is a fair price, perhaps alps crowd is shrinking that is all.

Re: Price check on my vintage keyboard

Switches are very likely, caps are much less likely since they can’t cover modern layout. But i agree this thing as a whole would sell more if the right people are interested. For people who only are after the switches, this prob worth as much as the switches would sell for and prob a bit more for t...

Why do you think it is not possible? Some people on other Forums told me it is almost impossible to get a custom keyboard with my budget That is mostly false, however it can also depends on the context. Custom means you make you own choices regarding caps switch layout case etc. So there are many w...

For that price and sa (and presumably quality caps) you have pretty much Maxkey and Domikey to consider. So i guess start searching for what they have in stock and go from there.

A lot of people like mx red because it is light. I don;t like it also because it is too light for my taste. Gat yellow is more of my weighting. It is all preferences, and I would prefer the tofu over 5 degree mainly because I like how tofu case looks. They are all great quality though for starting you custom build. Yeah they are both decent deals. Kbdfans is quite established at this point. I think the 5 degree case is not bad.
But since you said you like to get into customizing your own keyboard, perhaps it should be better to but parts and soldering equipment to assemble it yourself?
