Re: Where can I buy little rubber domes / nippes from?

Perhaps you're right but I'd hate to throw it away. It has a metal back-plate and some nice keys! I've found a bag of 100 silicone grommets for £1 on ali which is more reasonable!

Re: Where can I buy little rubber domes / nippes from?

That may be tricky. Personally, I have only seen discreet domes on Dell and Compaq rubber dome keyboards, the vast majority are molded as a one-piece sheet. That said, you will probably have to scavenge replacements from the same model or manufacturer as whatever you have now in order to get a prop...

Where can I buy little rubber domes / nippes from?

So I took an old keyboard apart today, only to find out why it stopped working, some of the domes had come loose, which inevitably meant some have managed to escape to places unknown! So, trying to find some little nippes / domes to replace them with. I've looked on ebay and can't find any so, is th...

I'm not subscribed, I haven't bookmarked it, but everytime someone replies I get a notification. Can I stop this?

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!

to all the people who are using keyboards that sit high off the table, don't you worry about rsi? your wrists will be at quite an angle to use them. you maybe fine for 6 months, a year or two, but it catches up with you, and then it doesn't want to leave you

Re: Hacking a PS/2 onto a Raspberry Pi for Tipro's reprogramming?

There is an MDI USB interface that you can simply swap out with the PS/2 one and have full functionality on 64 bit systems. MDI is no longer made by tipro (a shame as they are superior to newer models IMO) and the USB versions are not very common and also very expensive when they do show up. ( i wa...

Re: Hacking a PS/2 onto a Raspberry Pi for Tipro's reprogramming?

Do your homework and google it yourself, instead of asking others to do that for you. Thanks for the passive-aggressive and unhelpful answer. I don't use google, I use a company that respects privacy. However, if you want to "google" for tipro information regarding the ps/2, enjoy the 8 unhelpful l...

Re: Help programming PS2 Tipro/Cherry RC128BM

A pic of the PCB of your keyboard would help understand what you mean.. The images aren't great but, they should be good enough! The controller area https://i.postimg.cc/26NcKb1c/IMG-20200226-154646.jpg (interestingly, that nut is the same size as what holds model m keyboard cases together) The hea...

Re: Help programming PS2 Tipro/Cherry RC128BM

And now to programming itself, here's a guide how you can program your Tipro on-the-fly, i.e. while actually seeing what you are doing instead of programming "blind", plus more useful tips: Programming a Tipro board on-the-fly […] Any more questions, simply ask. Here's how my multi-module Tipro loo...

Hacking a PS/2 onto a Raspberry Pi for Tipro's reprogramming?

So, I'm referring to the PS/2 Tipro keyboards that need a 32-bit system, and a computer with a PS/2 port to program. Wondering aloud, if it'd be possible to set up a cheap PI 0 (like £10) to program them. That'd breathe life into the hundreds that are lying in a corner all sad and unused! :) I've se...

Another recommendation for the hydrogen peroxide. Try pharmacies, and hair places. I've never used wrapping - surely that'd create the creases and lines?

Re: Tipro KM128A PS/2 - Can I rip out the controller?

I read somewhere on here, or the other site, that the PS/2 controller has been fudged to get it into USB. Does anyone know more about this?

Is it possible to type f13-f24 without a keyboard that can type it? Are they otherwise used on a normal computer?
Might be best to start a new thread.

Re: Tipro KM128A PS/2 - Can I rip out the controller?

On paper, these keyboards are awesome, 128 programmable keys, 4 layers, beep, delays in keypresses etc. […] Not just on paper  My daily driver is a staggered Tipro (MID, the older range) with a 8x8 unit coupled on either side. I have been using it for years, first with a PS/2 controller, t...

Re: Tipro KM128A PS/2 - Can I rip out the controller?

As a side question, the back of the Tipro board has 2 sets of 7 header pins sticking out, and one set of 9 pins. What could these be for? 14 * 9 isn't quite 128!

...might cost you $40-50 on Ebay for both. Yep, I have an old laptop somewhere that I haven't tested - it'd take me months to find the power brick though! :( It hurts because I could buy a USB one for about £40. I thought maybe it'd be fun to do something with these. I've opened them up, and it is ...

Re: Tipro KM128A PS/2 - Can I rip out the controller?

Ouch, this sounds painful. I have a VMWare machine running an old XP and I can use the keyboard normally with a PS/2 to USB converter, but I don't have access to a computer with a PS/2 port so I'm ultimately screwed as ChangeMe can't detect the keyboard. I'm guessing, even if I could add a controlle...

Tipro KM128A PS/2 - Can I rip out the controller?

On paper, these keyboards are awesome, 128 programmable keys, 4 layers, beep, delays in keypresses etc. But that damn PS/2 connection, and Tipro's abuse of the PS/2 port makes reprogramming it impossible unless you have Windows XP and a PS/2 port on a computer. Is it possible to rip out the controll...
