[WTB] IBM 5576-002

Saw Thomas' review on this board and I knew I wanted one even before he reviewed it. However, Yahoo! Auctions has proved difficult to work with. So if you have one and are in the United States, I may be interested!

Re: Post your keyboards that went to hell (and hopefully back)

I'd post my old Matias, which last I used it, typed like "ttthhhhiiissssss". But that never came back, it got chucked when every single key had chatter, and the companies response via email was basically "mechanical keyboards aren't for reliability" which I still have in my inbox because of the abs...

Re: Shit, I fell for it

I have bought from andj00 once before, and that was my first time ever performing a transaction using a forum classifieds post. It was for a replacement DIN cable. Even though I was new to the community, even I could recognize that his asking price of $20 shipped was far too high, as I was hoping fo...

Proxying out of Japan - Seamail vs. Others

So I found something on Yahoo! Auctions that I would like to get. See my post in the keyboard identification thread to learn more. The problem here is that due to coronavirus, Japan Post has stopped all higher-priority shipments to the US and are only offering seamail as an alternative. Courier serv...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

Anyone know what this funky thing is? It looks like its PS/2 compatible but there's nothing besides that. The label is useless besides bearing the numbers 18555. https://auctions.c.yimg.jp/images.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/image/dr000/auc0108/users/5e6721116dd09c20438c64fb0b097fcc333134b0/i-img640x480-159...

Re: SGI "Granite" 9500900 review (Alps SKCM White Dampened)

When I was searching eBay for an ALPS board to call my own, I came across these guys and I thought they looked amazing. Imagine one of these with nicer ALPS switches in them!

Brother buckling springs - are they any good?

Hey there. Recently I have been having a hankering for a Japanese layout keyboard, and am rather sad that I didn't bid on a Fujitsu leaf-spring generation 4 (the membrane one) while it was still available. To be fair, I have no clue if FM Towns keyboards work properly on regular PS/2, so maybe it wa...

[WTB] Replacement Chicony 4-pin DIN or PS/2 cable

I have a Chicony KB-7601 that doesn't have a cable. I tried to convert the old DIN cable to to PS/2 using the cable from a faulty HP rubber dome but I didn't realize that the wires were so thin that they wouldn't strip with my wire stripper. I've decided to just get a new cable. The connector looks ...

Re: Where do you guys find your vintage keyboards?

I have always loved Goodwill as a source of parts for my small-time desktop refurbishing business. One day I happen to find a Chicony KB-7601 with ALPS SKCM White out of sheer luck. It wasn't my first mech (I had an MX Blue board for years before this) but I had wanted an ALPS for a long time until ...
