Re: Adding Kingsington lock to F122
Thanks. Although I wouldn't go as far as sticking that plate on the keyboard the post itself was very much an enjoyable read. Thanks againPlacaFromHell wrote: ↑03 Nov 2020, 01:26Someone in this forum already found a model F 122 with a cable lock, hopefully this will help you:

Adding Kingsington lock to F122
Are use my keyboard at work and I am concerned about theft. Ironically I work at a law enforcement agency LOL. I know Kingsington makes locks but they require a small notch in the metal but there's no way you can attach the lock and still use the keyboard at the same time. What have other forum user...

Re: Soarers Macro Limitations
I'm unsure what the macro limit per block is, but you could try separating the macros into their own macroblocks every so often as a quick fix. I encountered a similar issue when I was trying to make my entire 122's top function key row print email addresses. Separating them into their own macroblo...

Soarers Macro Limitations
Hello does anyone here have firm information on the amount of macro characters that can be stored in Soarers converter? I’ve created a few F Key macros on my M122 And keep getting an error that the macro block is too big. Similar question if Soarers has limits like that any alternatives for somethin...

Re: M122 Lock LEDs OEM look
All Just to be clear the etching/indentation was there already. Underneath was smooth plastic. I drilled out holes for the LEDs and using a glue gun secured them so they were flush with the surface (the LEDs are rectangular). The overlay/label and LEDs were off a NOS 4683 POS keyboard. For those of ...

M122 Lock LEDs OEM look
I recently modified a M122 but wanted to add the lock LEDs and make it look as original as possible. Rather than trash a model M to get the lock LEDs bezel I put hats number of IBM Point of Sale (POS) keyboards and used the bezel and LEDs from those.

Re: IBM Model M 1395162 Soarer Config
Not sure which board you’re working with. At the risk of offending you have you flashed the converter with the Soarer’s firmware? I ask because you have to do that first. When you use HID listen does it just say ‘Listening............’?

Using aux inputs on Soarer’s to change levels
I would like to modify a M122 by adding an internal soarer’s. My question is that, in reviewing the documents there are a number of extra pins that are designed for aux inputs such as a foot switch etc. can those same inputs be used to change the level of the keyboard? For example using a key switch...

M122 solenoid.... I know I know...
Ok so I know this question has been asked and answered a number of times. Call me a knowledge junkie or just a curious idiot but does anyone know why a solenoid can’t be added to a model M BEYOND THE STANDARD ONE IS MEMBRANE AND INE IS CAPACITIVE.... More specifically if you can retrofit a M122 with...

M122 Suggestions
Greetings. Would like to acquire a model M122 to replace my model M. Assuming money is not a consideration I'm assuming the original model M is the way to go but I’d like to get other points of view. I’m assuming that either way I’ll need a Soarer’s or equivalent. I don’t recall if the Unicomp has l...

When converting a model F122 any thoughts on which controller is best? I’m a newbie who’s been using model M for years but would like a 122 with the solenoid and also if possible caps lock and number lock LEDs.

Re: IBM Point Of Sale 4683 Keyboard 25F6329
Thanks for all the input. I wasn’t thinking it was a buckling spring keyboard as I’ve got a few model M’s already and use as daily drivers. I was just curious in general about if these (probably Chinese made) keyboards could be used on a traditional PC.

IBM Point Of Sale 4683 Keyboard 25F6329
New member question. Re the above captioned keyboards what’s involved to get them to work on a PC with either a PS/2 port or USB? For the former I’m not sure if it’s just a physical adapter or if a converter is needed. Obviously the USB would require a converter assuming they can be converted. I’ve ...

I’m looking to add a solenoid to a model M ‘Battleship’ keyboard. Can this be done with the xwhatsit controller and accompanying solenoid driver? Apologies in advance if I’ve worded this incorrectly.
