Re: The mystery of DT's new owner - SOLVED

Well I can say wiki and user content was included, it was communicated before. I don't know what happens if a future owner would toss that away. For sure with wiki content if someone would change the license, whether they legally could or not, you can still copy and use the content under the old op...

Re: APL Micro Switch SW

Wow! The keycaps on the far left that have a lamp behind them are really cool! I bet it's not even an LED. Probably an incandescent or neon bulb.

Whats the link to the nextthority?
https://nexthority.net/

We are about to launch as well, and we will need contributors for the wiki. I would also recommend joining our Discord server.

Re: Future of DT

I like the austere simplicity of your “outline” wiki. Wikimedia wikis have always struck me as ugly, from the start. The name NeXTthority, though, well… I like it. Because it makes me think NeXTSTEP forum! Lead dev here, we are really happy with Outline so far, and after trying 2 previous pieces of...

Deskthority AMA with keyboardjoy recording

Hi. In case anyone missed out, the new owner of DT, keyboardjoy did an AMA on the Deskthority Discord server. Here is a recording of that AMA, where some of the concerns about OneCommerce and keyboardjoy were addressed.

Copam K-430 (IDS Branding) - Blue Alps

Just some photos of this keyboard I got for free (along side a bunch of old computers and other keyboards, which I will post about in the future). While the board was filthy, the switches were pristine and are easily a 9/10. I have press them sideways or press on the stepped part of the key and they...

Re: Model Fs holding pens

A photo thread for those who enjoy the finer things in life: capacitive buckling springs and great writing instruments. Other fine keyboards are welcome here too, like Model Ms, beamers, and the like. No headphones allowed though, this isn’t r/mechanicalheadpens. I will go first, with a selection o...

Re: I think I discovered a MicroSwitch Microswitch predecessor from the early 60s

Hmm. A line like a mains line rather than a phone line maybe. Or a fuel line. I know big planes have manual tank balancing controls for their several fuel lines, heading off to the wings and such. But then again that release! That is very possible as I have seen Boeing gear there as well. I have al...

Re: I think I discovered a MicroSwitch Microswitch predecessor from the early 60s

The more I look at it the more I think it's more of a mini switch than a micro switch. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually a macro switch. Jokes aside this thing is huge and pretty neat. Where/ how did you find it? I'm always looking for new search terms to find cool stuff. I found the ...

Re: I think I discovered a MicroSwitch Microswitch predecessor from the early 60s

Ok so I went back and it appears that someone had bought all but one of the modules, so I only have a single one to let go to someone else. Still have not decided to give it to, but I would want it to be someone who has some experience documenting switches. We should also probably come up with a nam...

Any idea what this beast was for? The "signal" legend just adds to the mystery.
I have absolutely no idea, but if I were to guess, I would guess maybe some telephone switchboard thingy? But that is a total guess.

I think I discovered a MicroSwitch Microswitch predecessor from the early 60s

I have this switch assembly from the early 60s. I thought there was nothing special about it at first since there was no markings on it at all. However when I actually decided to analyze the switch further. It seems to function in a very similar way to Micro Switch microswitch switches. This is defi...
