Aydin Controls display generator links; history etc

I was curious about this company as the DT wiki did not show much. Wanted to share some links to save time for anybody else searching. I saw a few archived threads here and on GH of users who had old Aydin keyboards. History- http://www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/aydin-corp-history/ Emula...

Re: M122 Lock LEDs OEM look

Oh man such a smooth job on this. I may have to attempt copying you. I think I'd be ok with a unicomp overlay. They are cheap enough. Wait so what was there before you did this? Just pure smooth case?

Re: Model F-122 Case Conversion and General Repairs.

I have naught to contribute to the case swap.. but there are some good plastic repair products out there. I have used plasti-fix on NLA 80's sport bike fairing repairs with excellent results. If the swap doesn't work out I would give that a shot on the old case. It tends to work beautifully on this ...

[US-CA] Selectric IBM in Los Angeles. Needs work.

Selectrics available for trades if I see something that catches my eye. Only need one daily Selectric here, so the others fell out of adjustment.

Re: How to get into custom keyboards?

Welcome, I am new here too, but was looking column linear recently so I'll throw in. I ended up finding an mx point-of-sale type board. If I were you I would check those out, there are several types out there if you're alright with mx black. Also check out x-bow and ergodox which get you switch opti...

Re: How many keyboards is enough?!

XMIT has it.. if you can't keep them cataloged in your head, you have too many. For me 10 to 20 keyboards is about right the correct range.. I have had nightmares about misplacing vehicles and not being able to find them and I only had a few relatively worthless vehicles. I knew I had to cap it afte...

Re: how fast do you type?

I agree, its true many online tests use ridiculously short and easy word libraries. But its still fun to BS bench race them... Kind of like how time attack or autocross is still fun versus the real circuit races. I enjoy them all.

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

This is on its way to me. Unlike the sight unseen Harris purchase, I have a pic. Until it arrives this is all I have.. I figure its from a medical machine or ATM, probably horrible, but what the heck. The thrill of the unknown is fun.

Any body have any guesses what is it?

Re: Harris 10-pin din advise/advice?

Toober EB3K describes adapting the RJ version of the Wyse WY60 to USB. As well as a conversion to hot swap. Like Kairosuran nijuuni he opted to retain the OEM cable, although the RJ version has a thin coiled grey cable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v15ojIMeWF4 At this point I think its a pretty s...

Re: Harris 10-pin din advise/advice?

The 80's and later Harris terminals may indeed be badge engineered Wyse compatible hardware. Based solely on the few images from searching, the keyboards do look similar. WY-50 WY-75 seem to use the DIN versions while WY-60 and others seemed to use the RJ keyboards. Looks like mx black and even the ...

Harris 10-pin din advise/advice?

Recently switched from hoarding cars to keyboards due to them being somewhat more compact and cheaper. My methadone. And signed up here because of a Harris with 10 pin. I tried a search for "10-pin" but search is bringing up tons of unrelated content. Anybody know how to get this girl adapted to a m...
