Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYSWITCH thread
I'm not sure what board this is from so I can't confirm, but the slider looks a lot like Keytronic foam and foil, the low profile variant. I don't see a bar across the center like I do in most of the examples, but the mount is pretty distinctive and the keycaps look like they'd be compatible if the ...

Re: Monotype E11L - The largest keyboard I have ever seen.
Most keys I know of on one keyboard is the Accom Axial; 189. -z7t-g3w9xA Pretty sure it's also a lot bigger. Biggest and heaviest keyboard I know of is the Berthold mothership keyboard, though. Dwarfs even a battleship. Don't forget the 510 key keyboard that went with the PolType-04. Marcin Wichary...

Re: Help identifying a Western Union/Amer. Sat. Co. Board
Could definitely be a KeyTronic keyboard given the keycaps, age, and the fact that it was made for an American company. I also couldn't find anything specific. You should definitely follow up when you get the board, it looks interesting.

Re: Heavier beamsprings?
It might be hard to make the shape of a beamspring force curve match the shape of another force curve, but you could make them more tactile by manufacturing a replacement beams spring that is thicker than the original or by finding a stronger external coil spring, although that might be hard given t...

Re: Any info on the Toshiba T1500?
Given the layout I would have assumed it used the XT protocol. Sometimes XT era boards will control the lock lights keyboard side, like on the Zenith Z-150, and still use the XT protocol, so I do think there is a chance of success. Be warned that XT protocol boards have been known to not work withou...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread
I Googled Market Minder + Limit Minder and got https://www.jstor.org/stable/4529591. Financial Analysts Journal from 1973. The article's behind a paywall, though. I'm not sure about the legality of sending the PDF itself, but the relevant page is also depicted on this website: https://www.adspast.c...

Re: Fixing IBM Model F AT "WEIRD" SPACEBAR
I agree that this isn't the normal behavior of the spacebar, but unfortunately model F spacebars can be quite difficult to work on. I think there is a chance that reseating the spring will fix the issue, but removing the spacebar keycap is quite annoying and may require a full disassembly. You can r...

Seltec BL500 Selectron with KeyTronic magnetric reed swtiches
I recently picked up this weird board from eBay. The seller says it was "salvaged industrial control equipment", and like the seller I also couldn't find any other information about the board or even the company that made it. It comes with KeyTronic magnetic reed switches, which I wasn't expecting. ...

Re: Replacement back label for model M
The one with the hole, it was bolted with one of the screws securing the pcb to the backplate https://imgur.com/a/h9i5Jxb You don't need to go anything with that cable, as far as I know. I took mine off and the internal converter works fine. Here's an image of the sticker, although it's not in the ...

Re: Micro Switch 58SW5-9
I guess I intended to get it to work on a modern PC at all, because even when new it likely never had more than 1 key rollover. In the catalog the similar boards have "N-key" rollover, which means that hitting keys in quick succession will register.

Micro Switch 58SW5-9
I recently purchased this Micro Switch SW series keyboard model number 58SW5-9 and I am having trouble figuring out exactly what it is. Superficially the layout looks quite a lot like the IBM 3277 that sometimes came with the same switches that are documented in these Deskthority posts: [1] , [2] , ...
