Re: IBM LPFK & Arduino Nano.

All these 74-series TTL chips have ground in the lower-left and +5 in the upper-right, so those are easy to check. Curiouser and curiouser... It would appear the MAX232 onboard is the only chip getting power. Here I've circled the only spots on the board where I can detect 5v. IMG_0658 copy.jpg So ...

Re: IBM LPFK & Arduino Nano.

Yes, everything looks newish. Did you try measuring power to all the chips? As I said earlier, for loopback mode all they need is 5V and the other signals don't matter. And if there were a short between 5V and ground, USB wouldn't work. Furthermore, I thought the power-on state was to light all the...

The "best" keyboard is the keyboard YOU like to use, however you like to use it. "Switch X is horrible... because groupthink!" is a terrible argument and won't do anything to change the mind of the person who loves Switch X. You rock that freakin Advantage with browns! Re: Dear Model F owners, can we talk? (Long rant)

Biggest issue with my Unicomp is inconsistent keys. Some are just… mush. They click and activate but feel like the dampened Alps version. All rivets are intact and I purchased new (Space Saver M where M is for Mac). Still, is it garbage? Hell no! It was my very first mechanical board and started me ...

Re: IBM LPFK & Arduino Nano.

When not connected, does the cable have continuity for 1, 2, (row of two), and 5 (staggered one on middle row of three)? When connected only to the device, is there continuity between 1 and 2? When connected only to the converter, is there 5VDC between 1 and 5? Power is all that's needed to see LED...

They are :) Actually I programmed them so they show Layer 1 or Layer 2 (or together = Layer 3).
While Layer 2 is numpad and Layer 3 is mouse movement.
Could I take a look at your led configurations for that?

Okay. In the meantime it should be possible to isolate a power fault with just a cheapo multi-meter. When not connected, does the cable have continuity for 1, 2, (row of two), and 5 (staggered one on middle row of three)? 5 appears to not be connected inside the cable, which fills me with joy. Neither of those things happen unfortunately. Not even a blink of light at any time from either keyboard upon connection or in loopback. New cable is on the way.

Judging by the kinds of things people are listing “beige” refers to the price point rather than the color of the case… and I should have watched the whole 15 mins of the guy talking?

Would you screw your buyer over by cancelling the sale and relist it at a higher price? People do that and it is extremely shitty.
Seller has some negs on items that sold at low prices for either cancelling the order or not shipping/communicating so… probably?
