Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

Wait, does it mean that there is a full-size ANSI 104 keyset available for purchase? And/or a full-size or TKL keyboard with ANSI layout? Almost, … it is just two small steps away. I need to figure out the final pricing and set up a ‘product web’ again. Besides that, everything is ready and tested....

Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

I guess it is time to post some updates. 8-) I have substantially extended the profile set. It now includes, among other things, everything that can be found on ANSI/ISO full keyboards. The convex profile includes shorter spacebars and convex modifiers as I have promised. Since the set of supported ...

Re: My new project

This is really beautiful - especially for a programmer, keeper of some farm animals and native Czech speaker at the same time. :) I'm a bit sceptical though. Classic programming we learn will be soon for a bunch of guys writing very specialised code (maybe specific parts of unusual firmware etc.) F...

Re: Can someone please identify this Alps keyswitch?

A solid doubleshot? Intense! Since the mounts are milled, making the keycaps as thick as possible is faster—I remove less material. Even with the classic SKCM Alps mount, I do not remove more than is actually necessary: https://keymacs.com/img/dt/kss-milled-mounts-bottom-assorted-alps-720px.jpg Mou...

What’s the story behind the circle inside the cap? It looks pretty cool from below.
It is actually 'the second shot' with the white legend.

Re: Can someone please identify this Alps keyswitch?

That's a conversion job as much a custom keyboard. A conversion is better, as you get the truly vintage vibe from everything you keep. Including, typically, the original switches. ;) If anyone can find a use for a thousand non-MX compatible switches, though, it's Lispnick . What about this? kpyg4Sp...

Re: Custom Polyurethane Keycaps by Keymacs

So, guys, it is nearly the end of the year and it is time to utter something positive, right? I have been working on improving the keycap-making process because I still want to make keycaps with milled stems. It is the best possible way in terms of the versatility. It seems I have resolved the issue...

The switch archivists might be interested in a handful, but I doubt anyone's making custom boards from these. Yea I understand. I want to take the stock to be honest, but it will be great loss if there is no interest for them. I will see my contact today and i will discover how big is the stock. The sad part is that I have to buy them all or nothing! It’s a rule. So we see. How many switches are we talking...

But what’s a poor man doing buying a thousand dollar keyboard? ;) I’ve stabilised 2 and 4 unit keys that way on an Access-IS ortho keyboard and it really doesn’t work well at all. You get a seesaw, not a stabilised key. It really put me off using boards like that. Stabs contribute a lot to the over...

Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

I like the FN key on both sides. Very practical. I like it, too, as symmetry speaks to me. Trouble is, in the real world where I have both ANSI and ISO keyboards, that shortened left Shift could well spell a lot of errors! It's all ISO's fault. I tend to hit ANSI left Shift on its outer edge, where...

Lispnick, what’s are your thoughts on the Tai-Hao APC White switches? They sound awesome in the video. They are nice. I have not tried vintage simplified Alps so it is hard to compare. Re: Recreating the Lisp keyboard (10 years later)

I wouldn’t take 5u too seriously. Yeah, I guess I need to carefully consider the set of additional keys that I will...

Top one's definitely better, as you'd expect to hear. The 'lil slab look is cool, and this would perhaps be its best incarnation yet, but I ca...

The cheaper variant is 3d printing but it looks considerably worse. On the positive note, roomy plastic cases make ...

I would love to buy a full-size ANSI board or, if that isn't an option, a TKL. Anything more compact just doesn't work for me, unfortunately. Not a problem, just a few keys to add to the set. The real problem may be the case manufacturing. I cannot afford to throw money into 50 sets of big cases (t...
