Give it a go! If you're using 3.2mm outer diameter inserts then the worst that can happen is you'll have to remove them, and then you can almost certainly use 3mm nuts and bolts to complete the mod, as normal.
I personally think it won't work well, but if no ones done it, worth a shot.

Re: TomTrev9's Collection
Attached is a photo of the instruction sticker from my Avant Stellar, which is the same as the "P" (programmable) Northgates. That doesn't tell the whole programming story, but it will get you in and out of Macro mode. Be aware that the EEPROM on these models that holds the programming is known to ...

Sparkly Omnikey is sure sparkly! Beaut! Love a new in box with a box that also feels like a stolen historical artefact. Good time travelling! An Ellipse made Kishsaver is something to crow about too, obvs. If I didn’t have the original, I’d have nabbed one, and grumbled about QC all the same! Unlik...

TomTrev9's Collection
Seen as I've never actually posted a gallery of my boards, as soon as I had some spare time, I decided I should catalogue a few of them! I've been in this hobby now for around 3 years, quietly collecting various boards, without much interaction here on DT. You may however have seen me on eBay under ...

Re: [WTS] 1986 IBM Model M (Square Badge, Low serial, Screw Modded)
Anybody got an idea about the layout? Is it potentially mixed from a bunch of spares? It has - Azerty-style numbers - Å but no Æ, Ø, Ä or Ö - All English text buttons except the one in the "scroll lock" position - A lot of odd stuff in the punctuation "cluster" The more you look the weirder it gets...

Re: [WTS] 1986 IBM Model M (Square Badge, Low serial, Screw Modded)
I wish I knew more history on this board. These were the caps on it when I got it ,and this model number isn't too well documented. Shark thinks it could be a 3197 keyboard, but there aren't photos of any with legends like this. I suppose it probably is a combination of a strange terminal layout / ...

Perty. Also, nice Model F! Have you posted your thoughts here on it at? I haven't ever posted any thoughts on here no. Beautiful board & bolt mod job, GLWS! Thank you! Internally it's a beaut for sure :) Feels pretty stellar too. The vast amount of dirt & marks on that case could be removed with a magic eraser I bet. Should clean up pretty well. For sure! Probably not worth the time with the crack though :( And tho...
