I'll start with the basics. Have you switched the switch on the back to A? Have you tried it on another machine? Are you using a suitable AT to PS/2 and if you have one a PS?2 to USB adaptor?

that's a power plug I was mounting the switch on. It is hard to get it to stay in the position.

It looks like something is stamped in the slider. Alps never had that.

I was watching an NMB keyboard recently and it went for about $130 dollars. They are not cheap.

Some alps clone. Have you tryed desoldering the switch and looking on the bottom for a manufacturer? That happened with the Aruz switch I discovered. Seems like clone manufactures were coping every detail of the shell casing including the style of the logo.

No idea. these could very well be the rarest switch ever made with only one keyboard verified to have them. Search around because there are also the same keyboard and FCC and they have blue alps instead of Aruz switches.

Wait a minute. I found some info that says that tai hao manufactured the switch themself.

Maybe the clone maker used a short fantasy name starting with an A.
That actually would make sense, I would guess the switch was made by the same company who made the board they were found on.

Check the plastic rivets? If most of them are missing, that could be your issue. The springs may be out of alignment.

That's weird. I have the black and white switches from the switch try bag, they feel pretty good. Maybe the membrane makes the difference.

Those switches were generally quite good. Depends on how you feel about it.

Looks Honeywell Linear to me. They used very similar type of mount on the Compaq Enhanced keyboard series.

Yes. All Acorn BBC use Cherry mounts except Type 3 switches and some Achimedes boards. Master series use Cherry MY.

You may want to PM the guy to check that they if any are Type 4.
BBC Micro caps are also sweet to have with the doubleshot red F0-F8 caps.

seen very similar switch in some BBC micro keyboards. It had a white shell instead of a black one.
