I'm no ergo expert but i can imagine this would cause neck strain as you are constantly looking down at the keyboard.

That would depends on where you think it is loose. In my case it was the latches on the keyboard that was too loose.

So the idea is to wrap the sticky tape on the metal wire to the right thickness so it just fits into the latches. You probably only require to wrap the metal wire two or three times ...

At least until it gums up...
But at least it'll still be aromatic. I wonder if proper lubes are dust resistant. I'd say this is a case for mythbuster!

Hi all! i just managed to fix a model M2 keyboard, i didn't avoid breaking one plastic stud. Still the enter key metal support seems a bit loose, does anyone knows any trick to make it firmier?

If it is anything similar to the Model M spacebar. I also had the same problem with rattly spacebar ...

Actually, given the age of the board it is still very bouncy compared to my Microsoft digital media keyboard. It is not too bad to type on, it's just not "clicky".

Try to ask the seller for more photos/information.

DT has a wiki on the switch: http://deskthority.net/wiki/Monterey_switch

it's seemingly a membrane contact foil, but the Model M and the Cherry MY have those too.
Rubber dome is something different, that is just the rubber half sphericals on top of the contact foils which act as a spring.

It's definitely membrane contact foil underneath. I haven't figured out how to ...

Acer 6311

A keyboard from Acer model 6311. The switches are ALPS-like but apparently not ALPS switches. This switch just like the ALPS - it has a very satisfying click but definitely lighter than the buckling spring.

When i got this keyboard, it was pretty dirty. The stabilisers on some keys were dislodged ...

And by the way, this one looks very similar.
That one could be a variant of this board? The only difference i see is the 0 on the number pad.

I-CHIA International Corp (ICI) model K-208

Just a rubber dome keyboard but very bouncy and tactile. The keys appear to be dye sub, but i could be wrong.

This keyboard is made by some Taiwanese company (I-CHIA INTERNATIONAL CORP).

Model: K-208

Here are some pictures, forgive me for the poor lighting.

It feels different than rubber dome, in a sense that it is more tactile. When bottoming out, it has a sharp thunk - very crispy. It is also different that you are not required to bottom out with each press.

Here's the sound sample on youtube:
