Are you also planning on selling the key modules separately? Then everyone with a bit of diy experience (or enough money to pay someone) could fulfill their custom layout needs and build the keyboard from scratch.

In the attached comparison, my suspicion is that the PCB on the top had its USB-C connector soldered at such an angle that caused the controller to not work.
