Re: "Black Betty" - 1985 IBM Model M 1390110
Meet "Black Betty" - A stunning example of a pristine/NOS very early production IBM Model M born in Nov 1985 with part number 1390110, an unusual part number which seems to be undocumented anywhere online until it's recent rediscovery. This uniquely ultra-rare unicorn sports a seemingly modern blac...

Re: IBM 5251 Display Station
I'd like to get it working, but I am not sure it is even possible considering the state it is in. As long as the corrosion isn't too bad, anything is possible. Big challenge might be sourcing a new tube. IBM didn't make tubes so it will (hopefully) be a normal Sylvania, Phillips, etc. Check inside ...

Re: IBM 5251 Display Station
Beamspring conversion to standard USB is fairly simple (assuming you dont know before hand) and it is just a case of sliding out the old PCB and slotting in the new one, plenty of guides are on here and on other sites as well going over the process. If you want to convert the rest of terminal like ...

Re: IBM 5251 Display Station
Personally I would keep the monitor case and the curved CRT screen, but gut everything else. Fit either an LCD monitor behind the CRT glass or a totally new CRT assembly of a similar resolution. Then, strip the dials and switches down and rewire them to a micro controller and flash it to control th...

IBM 5251 Display Station
The day has finally come. I am now a proud owner of a 5251 keyboard and terminal. Unfortunately, the terminal is in a rough state. The CRT is cracked and missing the yoke. Also, both the keyboard and terminal cables have been cut. Either way, for the price, I can't complain. It does look quite lovel...

Re: Price Check: How much is my _____ worth?
Just curious how much my daily driver is worth. It is an IBM 3205 Color Display Console Keyboard Unit (F122). + P/N 1385082 + Yugoslavian Layout + IBM colored caps (came with the board) + Manufactured Summer of 1985 + Plastic signs no signs of cracking + Bottom case has a bit of discoloration and a ...

I would rather sell it here to somebody from the community instead of on ebay. So I would be happy about any offers! https://i.imgur.com/ifUZDxN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9ISvESU.jpg That is one nice looking beamer. Re: Silo Beam Spring Switches cancelled
What a shame. I am always excited for new switch types, and it is damn unfortunate when they get cancelled. I am not sure how it'll work out for Ellipse, but that remains to be seen. His F project was really successful, but also hit quite a few roadblocks on the way.

Re: IBM - The illusive Yugoslavian layout
Well, I haven't found any new YU P/Ns of note. But, as I stated before, I still believe that YU Models F weren't ever manufactured. Instead, you got a keycap set to swap out the UK/US ones. In light of this, I present to you my YU IBM Model F122 (1385082)!

[WTB] [EU/HR] Yugoslavian layout IBM M122/M102/F122
I am looking to buy Yugoslavian (contemporary Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian ISO) layout IBM boards. I am specifically looking for square badge models. 1. Type 1/Type 2 M122 2. Square badge M102 3. F122 My budget is 200 euro at most, but probably closer to 150. We can work out payment methods, though the ...

Re: IBM - The illusive Yugoslavian layout
Im confused lol So are you looking to find a yu layout f just to have the pn? I think those are in the datasheets The only thing unique about a yu latout is the alpha block and they can be put on any m or f I am looking for a YU F122/F107 or beamer. The F107 has a P/N for the YU layout. The F122 cu...

Re: IBM - The illusive Yugoslavian layout
I found a pretty interesting specimen. This seems to be a Type II M 122 key terminal keyboard. Part number is 0985955, made in the Netherlands.
This thing makes me hopeful for the existence of YU F 122 key terminal boards.

Re: IBM - The illusive Yugoslavian layout
YU is actually quite a common M layout. You could also get them (well Wheelwriters) in YU Cyrillic ;) I have found 10-15 Ms (including M122s) with YU layout. So not that common, but it is a thing. And wheelwriters? Yeah, those are common as typewriters were the main form of data input up to the lat...

Re: IBM - The illusive Yugoslavian layout
there's also this one that as the Ž Captura de pantalla 2022-01-17 a las 19.15.40.png This is huge. 3179 terminal keyboard is an F122. This basically confirms that IBM had at least assigned a part number for a Yugoslavian layout F122. Now, same as with the F107, it is really hard to get concrete ev...

I've never seen this layout Picture for reference. Good luck mate! 3179-3180 IBM.png It does not escape notice that the alphas in this layout are all identical to the then-regular YU layout , with the {} key being the only exception (instead of a Ž key), even though both characters ARE in the terti...
