iKBC MF108 is rather heavy. It's quite the block of aluminum

[WTB] [US-IN] IBM M50 or F50 Macropad (internals at least)

I'm working on a project for which I'd like a broken or complete buckling spring macropad (M50 or F50). I really just need the plate assembly with or without barrels. I'll be installing model f flippers and making a capacitive pcb regardless. The goal is to make a case for my F107 guts and integrate...

Re: Project Log: 3D Printed, "Double Shot," Spherical Buckling Spring Keycaps

I was wondering, how do you create those razor sharp cutouts for the legends? Thanks for asking :D The cutouts are done in Fusion 360. The depth is ~0.8 mm. The most recent pics are of caps fresh off the printer (and washed and cured). I'm using a Mars 2 Pro with a layer height of 0.02 mm. I really...

Looks great! Hope you’re ok!
Thanks! :D I'm doing much better. I still get out of breath and lightheaded sometimes though. It's definitely not an experience I'd recommend.

Re: Custom Polyurethane Keycaps by Keymacs

My plan was to use the stems on the larger keys as well. IBM did this on a couple of >1u caps.

I haven't produced >1u caps yet, but I post updates here when I get time: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=27105

Re: Custom Polyurethane Keycaps by Keymacs

Yep, I agree, it is a lot of money. But I can make 1 keyset per week at most. I can imagine making a 60% blank keyboard in two days but a double-shot TKL will definitely take a week, triple shot 101 keyboard two weeks. You've all the sympathy in the world from me :) Making keycaps is hard, time-con...

Re: Project Log: 3D Printed, "Double Shot," Spherical Buckling Spring Keycaps

Mini Update: Vibratory polishing is going well. It took a bunch of testing to figure out which media and abrasive will work best (and which ones won't work at all). This test cap needed to be left in the coarse media longer to get rid of more layer lines, but it's enough of a result to say that vibr...

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!

Wow, that's just stunning! And I bet it feels and sounds as good as it looks. Concrete might get a bit messy, but has anyone ever made a case from resin or some other composite material? Back in the day I had a turntable made by Kenwood, and the base was made of some sort of resin that looked like ...

Looks good! Do you have any ideas for what type of case you’re going to make? Thanks! I really want to make a concrete case with a brass or stainless pencil holder. I'm going back and forth between replicating the original case or making a wedge-style case with an integrated wrist rest. Looks amazi...

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!

I finally got my 4704 guts up and running. I purchased a barrel plate, back plate, and pcb with an Xwhatsit pre-installed from Orihalcon a while back. New barrels, flippers, foam, and caps recently came from Model F Labs. I still need to finish the barrel plate and make a case, but it works like a d...
