Re: What are these mystery vintage keycaps?

They look like typewriter caps i think - loads of typewriters used that mount. someone else might be able to tell you what typewriter they're from, though

WTB any SKCC or more unique but not mega pricey SKCL/M boards

Hiya!

I'm looking for SKCC or other less common skcl/m switch boards (though my budget isn't immense, so maybe not the last one  )

Preferably UK based for shipping ease if that's alright, though message me anyway if you're not and we can chat about it!

Re: Does anyone still make keyboards with build quality comparable to a Model F or even an M?

Most "modern" keyboards I come across are built kinda like crap. If you get into customs you can get milled aluminium, or if you're fancy enough higher grade metals yet. I'd say they're better build condition than F's in some ways, definitely M's - but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for

The way I do it is to do exactly what you've just done there, but instead of hitting Submit: copy it and paste it into a DM. The same quote format and their links works in DMs.

Hey, I'm so sorry, i know it's a long shot - do you still have this keyboard? I've bought a NOS keyboard minus case that has similar codes to yours, but the layout is markedly different. I can't find anything about it though, and I'm trying to figure out if it has SKCL or SKCC, if you found anythin...

Ah, must not be the same one. The one I found had skcl greens and was on eBay. Nice get! https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/FL4AAOSwSKBeTIVN/s-l1600.jpg I picked up the C.Itoh/CIE Terminals with greens on ebay :D. The caps are in outstanding condition. They are doubleshot, medium thickness and I think ...

Hey, no picking on the Alps virgin! I'd love to get my fingers on some browns. Something I'd never dream to say about Cherry! My low-res / lazy understanding is that SKCM browns are the early tactile equivalent to SKCM blues, which are definitively the summit clicky Alps. I've got blues (in a...

Re: m3501 locking switch question

I shall speculate otherwise. “Locking caps lock” is a feature in QMK etc. as a (hacky) way to support mapping other (better) mods to an unmodified latching Caps Lock. There is no inherent magic to latching switches: they’re switches, which latch. Interpreting them, controller side, is where the opt...

Re: m3501 locking switch question

Does anyone know if swapping the locking switch on the capslock switch for a non-locking switch, would let that key behave like a normal key? Reason being, I really like to map capslock to control. I'm just speculating, but i don't think so. Reason being, when programming a converter you have to bi...

Re: Clicky SMK 2nd Gen or White Alps

I've had a series of white Alps boards, and one Monterey blue (SMK clicky) board, and what I will say is that they're quite different genres of switch. The SMK are light as a feather and actuate with hardly any force - this is really nice sometimes, and their tactility is surprisingly sharp once you...

Futaba clicky switches are some of my favourite, and one of my favourite keyboards has these, but one key requires a harder press than all the others. Probably wouldn’t be a problem or even noticeable for a heavier-handed typist, but it bugs me. Therefore, I’d like to solder out that switch and swa...
