Re: Unicomp New Model M is going to use a controleer with a Raspberry Pi Pico on it?
The beauty of lithium battery packs is you can get them in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so I am sure Unicomp could make them fit. I personally would not want a Bluetooth keyboard. I would prefer a 2.4 GHz dongle. I use a USB switchbox to switch between two computers and either a wired keyboard or...

Great post! I'll definitely have to try this after I get my bolt mod done.

Starting a model F XT restoration. Replacement key suggestions?
Hello everyone. I am starting a model F XT restoration. This is my second model F XT. I bought the keyboard today for way too much money and it should be here soon. I have managed to track down and purchase the missing 0/insert key and the f9 key as well as cork pads, but am struggling to find a ./d...

Re: Update on the Ebay mystery meat
Vintage computing guys should put down the YouTube and visit the recycling centre. I still have to dodge all those CRTs on my way to lobbing out the beer bottles at our local dump. And no, I’ve never found a keyboard worth bringing home there. Apparently trashed Edinburgh belonged to HP and Dell. Y...

Update on the Ebay mystery meat
Hi everyone, the pile of old computer stuff has come in and I figured I’d give y’all an update. The mystery keyboard above the model m was a chicony KB-5161 with mitsumi miniature mechanical yellow switches. It sounds pretty meh but feels good. I took it apart and cleaned the shit out of it. Some of...

Re: How did I do for $130?
And a CRT? How much was shipping? Over here, even shifting that locally would cost more than $130. Envy y'all, so I do. ;) The Unicomp and the Model M should be pretty good. If the bone fide M feels loose compared to the Unicomp, open it up and check for snapped rivets: might need a bolt mod. The U...

Re: How did I do for $130?
You got a good deal. The yellowed one in the corner is not a Model M though, it probably has Alps or Alps clone switches. The black and grey one does look like a BTC 5100 - they could come with either rubber domes or foam and foil switches. Yeah it looks like a Chicony KB-5162F or 5151 after some r...

How did I do for $130?
Hey everyone. I've been lurking for awhile and finally decided to make an account today because of this purchase to ask yalls advice. I'm not used to being on forums so I apologize in advance if I accidentally break some rules. Anyways I bought this lot of old parts off of eBay for $130 mainly just ...
