Re: Keychron Q6 keyboard review (Novelkeys Cream Clickie)

Great review - exciting switches. Will you be reviewing the Keychron low profile optical switches at some point? ;) I hope so tbh, I'm pretty interested in them :D . I recently got them in tactile browns. Very impressed. Reminds me of SKCM Cream Damped, just with shorter travel. I think they have m...

Re: Webapp to easily compare switch force curves

The update adding bluepylons data is live now, which brings the total switch count to a little over 1000! I started automatically adjusting the curves (instead of using the source data directly), so there should be improvements overall, but probably some incorrectly adjusted ones as well. Duplicate ...

Re: Webapp to easily compare switch force curves

Yes, it's hosted here (also linked with the Source button in the bottom-left corner of the webapp): https://github.com/heralden/switchesdb It's definitely open to PRs. Feel free to change any part of the CSS - it's mostly functional now and not pretty, so any help from someone with a designer eye wo...

Re: Webapp to easily compare switch force curves

I'll see what I can do. As is probably obvious, UI design isn't my forte :) ThereminGoat is measuring new switches almost every day, so hopefully there will come a day where most things have been measured! You could check out Zealios Purple, which is basically an Ergo Clear before Cherry started pro...

Re: Webapp to easily compare switch force curves

Glad to hear, Scarpia! I've given it some TLC since and it's now mobile-responsive, includes legends, and the URL contains the displayed switches (has the cool side-effect of being able to re-open a closed tab and use the back/forward buttons). Let me know if you have any other suggestions for impro...

Re: Webapp to easily compare switch force curves

Thanks for the feedback! Note the missing legend to tell which one's which on the chart. Consider this a feature request for the export button. Also permalinks to (arbitrary user created) charts. :geek: I've delegated the chart functionality to vega-lite, and disabled its legend as it would be redun...

Re: Webapp to easily compare switch force curves

Thanks for doing this! I've previously found myself comparing force curves by scaling and superimposing screenshots. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. :D Agreed. It’s fiddly on my phone (away on holiday) but what isn’t. I'll create a responsive layout next time I work on it, so you won't have t...

Webapp to easily compare switch force curves

I'm a big consumer of the keyboard switch force curve graphs that HaaTa and ThereminGoat have made available to the community. Whenever I want to get an idea of what a switch is like, the first thing I do is look up its force curve and compare it to force curves of switches I'm familiar with. This o...

Re: Does anyone else feel the lack of a fullsize option ruins the Model F repro?

Returning to the topic title, I'm of the opposite camp: I love alternative layouts, particularly vintage ones. Hence I love how the IBM 4704 looks but do not like the bog standard Model M layout of the beamspring repro. I'm also not fazed by compact layouts. I'll happily use anything down to 34 keys...

Re: The dos and don’ts of making good typing videos

I have never understood why people recording typing videos always feel the need to leave in their audio syncing cue. I'm not interested in seeing someone click their mouse, snap their finger, play with their zippo lighter or cock their gun for 10 seconds before the typing starts.

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

I'm glad to hear it worked!

Ellipse: Running `git checkout 0e5d67145a649480fd49a72712997feb6303a471` in the freshly created qmk_firmware folder is essential as the patch doesn't work with current QMK. Let me know if anything is unclear. I'd be happy to help updating the instructions.

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Thank you for the info and timestamp. I was able to compile the F77 wcass hex file on the Ubuntu VM, then used 2021 Pandrew QMK Utility to erase EEPROM and Enter Bootloader, and then used Atmos Flip to flash the hex file. But the solenoid does not work for my modifier keys (on two attempts), so I'd...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Instead I found a haptic.c file in qmk_firmware_andrei/qmk_firmware/drivers/haptic/ , screenshot attached. Should I be copying over that directory and its contents to qmk_firmware/drivers/haptic ? The latter does not have haptic.c and haptic.h files, only the other 4 .c and .h files. I edited `qmk_...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

- I am also a VIM user and I would like if possible a second Caps Lock key with the proper Esc pictogram, not ESC or Esc but an arrow inside a circle, it’s there in my template. Ideas (relocate ESC key): 1) Home Row (where caps lock is, then relocate caps lock between ctrl and alt) 2) Between ctrl ...

This manual is amazing. It exceeded every expectation I had for it. So much information I wish was readily available when I received my new Model F. Now mass print it and include it with every new Model F!

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

This is probably very late, but I’m a fan of vintage layouts that were alternatives to the now standard IBM layout and like to take inspiration from Unix and Lisp layouts. Is there any chance of producing a "rub out" key, which was present on Symbolics keyboards as a 1.75U key to the left of "A", re...

Mostly interested in the models with Futaba MA Clicky switches, but open to all featured here: http://xahlee.info/kbd/Japan_M-Type_TRON_keyboards.html

I may also consider other keyboards with Futaba MA switches.
