Updating my review. It's now my main board, having displaced filcos, cherry reds, and a maltron.
The space bar is the best in the industry bar none. The tenting mechanism depending on the hand rests is not ideal. It forces the keyboard to be separated from the body, resulting in a very unergonomic ...

I was typing on a maltron before, which has a matrix layout. Maybe that matters.

Touchtyping but using ring finger instead of pinky often. Consequences

I Touch type colemak on a matias ergo pro, but catch myself using ring finger instead of pinky often. Are there any consequences? ring finger is longer and requires less of a wrist twist to reach keys, particularly on the right hand. Who came up with the finger rules? Are these from the typewriter ...

Not part of the tour, bought it unseen, here's my review...
The switches are a bit stubborn, like the fukkas.
Not sure they will grow on me. The activation force feels pretty serious. I'm not sure this is bottoming out or the actual feel of the switch.

The large space bar and control keys are great ...

Nobody answers whether there's an ergonomic advantage to cherry browns, as most ergo keyboards seem to have those by default. Nobody knows?

Why do ergo keyboards often use browns? I just switched to blues and it seems to be working better for my hands!

Oh mighty Oracle:
Why do modifier keys have to be as heavy/clicky as the rest? They do not have the same usage. Something like MX reds for all modifiers would make some sense.
Why do space bars have heavier switches? They are the most frequent key.

I'm getting a matias ergo pro, and an ergodox ...

Tried:
- vintage black
- normal black
- red
- brown
- fukkas

Favorite for now:
- vintage black
- brown

I'm getting an ergopro and an ergodox. I wonder if the ergodox should be clears? Never tried them. They are heavy like the vintage black, and closest to the ergopro alps.
What do you think?
It ...

I have two deskos, the 'elbowglue spos' model ...
They have the 'classic' cherry blacks (close in feeling to reds, my favorite switch). They are NIB.
How much are they worth?

I also have a cherry MX 3000 (reds, bought it in China) with doubleshots. I paid a lot for it ~2yrs ago, when reds where ...

Maltron moved the arrow keys and modifiers. What reason?

I wonder if there's any research behind that, or user complaints, or what. I have the 89 model, with arrow keys in two thumb clusters. I wonder if I should remap or learn this weird way to move around. All feels good, but selecting text with ctrl shift arrows. That is virtually impossible.

You do have to leave it running for a few days to get used to it. For me it's a must, I've used it for around two years, together with a dark desktop theme. I think this is one of the killer tools for interacting with a computer and I'm glad to see it pop up on this forum!

hactually they are about as high as a desko or a G80. It just looks high because of the design of th curved plastic in front.

I have two of these and they are my main board. I was planning to to the split mod before Hoggy posted his (great minds think alike?). In fact the boards come with a Y cable ...

I wonder if the people who hate mx blacks here have tried the two incarnations. The pre 1995 version is much, much better, my favorite switch by far. The modern day black is meh.
