Update on the MTRON TK-1 that showed up on Auctions a few days ago: it just sold for 100,000 yen, or:
$890
833 euros
708 pounds

It's taken...a lot longer than we ever imagined, but we're thrilled to announce that the Model 01 is now available for preorder.

lowpoly, you mentioned ykt3dext.pdf. I've actually been working from what appeared to be a later version - http://blogs.epfl.ch/icenet/documents/Ykt3Eext.pdf.

Keyboardio needs your help
Hey folks,
I've previously posted some of my 3D printed and laser-cut prototype keyboards ( http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/my-shiny-new-keyboard-io-model-00-keyboards-t7134.html ) & have mentioned that we're hard at work designing a mechanical ergonomic keyboard that we intend to ship ...

Job posting: Keyboard.IO Prototyping Intern/Consultant in SF
Hi guys.
Keyboard.IO was recently accepted into Highway1, a hardware incubator. We're hard at work building you awesome hackable ergonomic mechanical keyboards. And we need help. We're looking for an intern (or possibly a consultant) who's good at prototyping. Ideally, we're looking for someone who ...

There's a study out of a Berkeley ergonomics lab that suggests that anything 17mm or bigger doesn't increase typing pain or typo rate for users with large hands and also improves things for users with smaller hands.

Re: My shiny new Keyboard.IO Model 00 keyboards
I didn't drop it entirely, just cut it down to a a few degrees. The full tk1 splay is just too wide to be comfortable.philpirj wrote:Looks good!
Why you decided to drop tron'ish column angling starting Mark 10?

Re: My shiny new Keyboard.IO Model 00 keyboards
Yes, more comfortable. Yes, the current layout is a variant of the blue shift layout. And yeah, as I've said before, the 1.0 keyboard will almost certainly be a single unit. There's just too much design risk in a split design for my first physical product.

My shiny new Keyboard.IO Model 00 keyboards
The Model 00 is very similar to the Mark 13 I mentioned over at http://blog.fsck.com/2013/12/better-and-better-keyboards.html , though it (finally) uses a PCB I designed and had Seeed Studio make me 10 copies of (for $200, including FedEx Next Day shipping from China!) and has a wood shell, rather ...

I've been really happy with the Arduino Micro: http://arduino.cc/en/Main/arduinoBoardMicro (Not the Pro Micro)
The Micro has a '32U4 and is quite easy to work with. (https://github.com/obra/KeyboardioFirmware is the firmware I've been building for it using the arduino toolset)

Damn. I'm sorry I missed those. Though at least I didn't miss out on keys with the full extra top and front symbol sets.rindorbrot wrote:http://deskthority.net/post112785.html#p112785
