Re: HHKB's you've tried
As an fyi, you can buy some UV protectant for plastics to ensure the white/ivory plastics maintain their original color and don't yellow over time. :D What about the discussion here a couple years back, where some folks claimed that exposing your yellowed plastic to UV light would bleach it back to...

Re: UK Meetup - London - September 10th 2022
Hmm.. I may go as well.
Would be interesting train trip to London. Take my family, let them go loose in London center and I would go for meetup.

Re: Post your keyboard/keycaps!
Not the caps I intended for this board but it doesn't look bad. Lubed Glorious Pandas in there, carbon fibre plate, hot swap version. Gotta say, stabilisers on the NCR80 are attrocious, even lubed. How does it sound? Does it have anice thock? CF plate should help getting it nice and thocky. Are the...

Re: HHKB's you've tried
A key that's especially important to me is Return. I hit that key with the emphasis and urgency of "Done!" The Return key is especially juicy sounding on my Type-S and always has been. It's got that THWOCK you hear in a good tennis serve, unanswered. I've always relished that on this board! I reall...

Re: HHKB's you've tried
Tried Pro 2, Pro 2 and Pro 2. Think my fav’s Pro 2, but it’s close. ;) Tried a few Realforces too, but all originals, not the subsequent generations. Like the light domes, don’t like the plate. HHKB is my sweet spot. Sounds like it is for you, too. If you don't like the plate, whole keyboard is pra...

Re: Realforce 87u or 86u (or R2 55g eventually)
Could try Palatino; a gent if you haven't yet had the pleasure. I remember him getting a 55 g a few months back. Think it was an R1 Ivory TKL. And of course, he may not be selling it! He's pretty into his HHKBs now though so he may be willing to let it go if he still has it. Thanks, I PMed him, wil...

Re: HHKB
I honestly prefer HHKB to TKL, and all that lies between. It’s a shame not everyone can cross the uncanny valley where Fn slows you down. I find moving my hand down to the arrow cluster is slower now. That training back on my XT meant I already knew my way around before I had no choice. Highly reco...

Selling new HHKB Hybrid Type-S white. Bought for myself, but for the love of god my brain cannot accept this layout :( Original box included. New one is £299, I'm letting mine go for £230 + delivery Nooooo, how long have you tried the layout for? I had the same reaction with my first HHKB. It didn'...

Re: Mu's New HHKB
As much as I love hhkb, for some reason typing on type-s is weirdly mushy for me. I feel a bit bad that so many people here love type-s, where I just feel that stock sounds and feels better. Is it possible that I feel them both at the same time - scratchy and kinda smooth :) However, I think that sw...

Re: Mu's New HHKB
I've never tried this myself so am unsure of what the results would be, but have you tried removing the type-s silencing rings? I can't imagine there's any real wobble on the sliders as the rings are extremely thin I was thinking doing it. I've read here and there that when you do that, they start ...

Re: Mu's New HHKB
What's the harm with a little patience? You dismissed your HHKB Type-S as quickly as I dismissed HiPro after playing with them for a few minutes at a meet-up. First impressions matter, but what what matters more are lasting impressions. You've already got the keyboard in your possession, you might ...

OK. So sounds like I'm not a Type-S person.
Prefer that noisy regular sound of hhkb.
New Hybrid Type-s for sale, anyone?

Re: Mu's New HHKB
HiPro is like SA (example: Round 5) but not even quite that good. I’d rate them 3/10 for feel but 8/10 for looks. (Deduct points for those usual boring beige ones, though.) Quite imbalanced! MT3 is a bit nicer than both of them, looks wise. For me, it’s a bit better feeling, too, as it screams YOU ...

Re: Mu's New HHKB
I have a set of kbdfans HiPro caps in my drawer, they're not too far off the shape & feel of MT3. I do find they benefit in terms of sound from using o-rings on the keycaps themselves. I really like them, but I didn't like the white caps on their own. I'll definitely pick up some of their darker Hi...

You happen to miss my post up there? They're not very close, no. No, didn't miss. I asked wobbled for his opinion. So, you're saying that MG is closer than MT3? Do you have any MG sets? If yes, do you find them nice to type on? Sure, sure. That's fair enough. All good. No, I don't as I don't use Ch...
