Re: Beam Spring 104+SSK Reproduction Project! First Batch In Stock, Shipping early next year after New Model F Project

My two cents come from zero expertise, but I think that a big part of the success of the F62 & F77 is that their layouts were, for the most part, universally usable. We see this demand in vintage markets too; we'd all daily an F XT if it had a better layout. I think I'll appreciate a beam spring key...

Re: Beam Spring 104+SSK Reproduction Project! First Batch In Stock, Shipping early next year after New Model F Project

Have been away for a while due to life being lifey; I really hope I saw this in time to get a reservation before they're all gone. This is what I've been waiting for for too long, without being ready to spend $2K on an original IBM Beam Spring.

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

I've seen a reviewer complain about the software hassles they've had with the new keyboard, and I do understand where they're coming from. I spent a lot of time tweaking small things in QMK before being completely satisfied. I didn't have any complaints about that because it was expected and it's wo...

F77 and Customizations

It's been about a year now since I got my Industrial Model F77, serial 27, and have almost exclusively praise for the keyboard in my time using it. Maybe it's time to show it off. https://i.imgur.com/nPFsWXb.jpg I bought the keyboard as a Model M and Selectric owner & lover, but having never tried a...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

Thanks! That’s interesting - but the real question is about the AT, isn’t it? I mean, the F77 makes sense if the AT hadn’t been created yet; but if they were overlapping, then why, when they seem to have the same size and reasonably modern layouts? The PC AT was released in August 1984, whereas the...

Re: F62+F77 orders now open! New Kishsaver+Industrial Model F Keyboards

And yes, they were available contemporaneously. Well, not really available, but they were contemporaneous. I imagine IBM wouldn't sell you a 4704 if you weren't a bank. I believe the Model F XT (before it was the XT, shipping with the 5150) would have been available over a year before the 4704 was ...

Re: IDENTIFY THE KEYBOARD thread

This keyboard was found in an industrial setting (as evidenced by its cleanliness). My girlfriend saw it and instantly knew I'd be interested in it, but she wasn't allowed to touch or pull caps. I thought Unitek/Chicony initially, but the AEKII-like profile, relegendable caps, and the position of th...

I think both are great forums, but they've got their differences, and if I need to find something out about something, I know I'd want to check both sites, because of the varying communities, threads, etc. Although I do like Geekhack's wiki system, it seems that now it's gotten a bit.... bloated, al...

They're heavier, and you can actually feel the tactile bump very easily. Look at force graphs to get an idea.

Couldn't somebody have a switch group buy? I don't know how many people need 200 switches, but I'm almost sure you can find 10 people who'd like 20 switches.

Well right now, you have nothing to lose, and duping DOES double your chances, but the chances of winning are still quite slim, a 0.8% increase isn't very much. Congrats in advance to whoever wins! :)

In the end, NKRO isn't necessary, but I do sometimes hate my 2KRO. I'd say 4KRO is enough for most gamers, but who actually makes a 4KRO keyboard?! In the end, I'd pay $20 extra to get 6/NKRO, because the few times that I do game, I notice how some 4 key combos don't work, sometimes it'd be nice to ...

The Steelseries Xai has one of the best high DPI sensors out there, I currently am using a G500 that I received after my G5 broke down, a month before the warranty ended. I had the G5 for almost 3 years, I believe, and the logo is gone on it. Razer Mice aren't the best for me. I have rather large ha...

Noppoo warranty

If one buys a Noppoo from Taobao w/ Obook, and the board is DOA, or has chattering, what can one do about it? Other than soldering a switch for chattering, can something be done if it has other problems? Is there any realistic form of getting the thing fixed? Has anybody had any problems with the Ch...

I'm wondering if these will have the big Caps Lock key, and if it'll be possible to replace it with one that has the little spacer between it and A. I hate hitting Caps lock all the time, especially when typing and it's mapped to either Control or Backspace. I don't care about the Led, I won't use i...

I've also heard that, but after much lurking, haven't seen any proof. Just because they're offered in Asia doesn't mean they'll pop up in the USA, but we can hope! :)
I wonder if the price on Leopolds will increase after March 7th. It better not.
