External programmable I2C QWERTY keypad matrix controller chip for $1
http://www.analog.com/en/products/interface-isolation/mobile-io-expander-and-keypad-controller/adp5589.html#product-overview Main application as I see it is to offload matrix scanning from the main controller chip, thus reducing its firmware complexity, performance requirements and the number of pin...

Tap/hold keys - some questions/problems
Guys with 100+ keys on their boards may just stop reading this right now. The idea of using tap/hold keys is here for a while already. Short introduction: tapping on a key results in a Tab keycode being sent, while holding is acting like Ctrl. This allows two logical keys on a single physical button...

Cherry keycaps from a rubberdome
I just got two old packard bell keyboards, 5130 and 5131C, PS/2, both rubber domes.
What's interesting, the keycaps fit very nice to a cherry switch.
Can post some photos.
This is a very cheap source of cherry keycaps.

These two are pretty awesome and evolutional over original BlueCube. DSA's look way better on that type of keyboard. Have you dropped trackpoint completely or are going to add it somewhere on the case later? Or tmk's mouse pointer thing does its job well? Both variants look like you don't need tenti...

First, Great DIY skills! Thanks! After debounce code fix I've had no key stuck problem on GH60 so far. Me neither. On my first attempt to adopt tmk a month or so ago i have experienced this, but now this works fine. As for Right Alt or AltGr, I confirmed your FN8 action ACTION_MODS_TAP_KEY(MOD_RALT...

Happy to share that tmk_keyboard worked like a charm. I had a stucking key issue, but it seems to be fixed in gh60 code that i took as a base. https://github.com/pirj/tmk_keyboard/tree/master/keyboard/hornet Still cannot get AltGr working on KC_RALT, acts like a regular Alt key. Is there a special c...

But I don't get how F* keys are activated. And how do you press for example Ctrl-F7. Are there 3 layers for top row (e.g. q w e/1 2 3/F1 F2 F3)? Still experimenting. For now i have two layers, one is qwerty+some special chars, another is numbers + special chars (orange key as modifier). Probably wi...

Looks extremely nice! I've made a case from bent 1.5mm laser cut acrylic plate, but i feel that plywood would be better, since it's less brittle. The bad thing here is that you would need to desolder the switches, mount them to the top case plate and then solder again. I went through this. Probably ...
