Oh hey, they reinvented Fujitsu Peerless switches? wiki/Fujitsu_Peerless
It's interesting to see that they actually added a clicker in this switch.

Re: Is there something about Cherry MX switches that make them more "clonable" than other designs?
Talking about Cherry clones: has anybody been crazy enough to clone MX Clears? I suppose you intended to be snarky, but I also don't know how ignorant you are: There are several options for "Ergo Clears" with lighter springs that lack the scratchiness and tight keycap mount of real Clear — but I've...

... picking up a square little MX tester and knowing instantly which one has your feel. (So long as you like scuffy, scuffy with a scratch, or scuffy with a chintzy click: the MX world’s your oyster.) Talking about Cherry clones: has anybody been crazy enough to clone MX Clears? Re: 64 Bit Soarer's Tools for Mac
Then why does the wiki say that the package is closed source? The controller / converter firmware is definitely closed source because we don't have its source files at all. The tools had their sources released for exactly this scenario where an OS upgrade would make binaries stop working. However, ...

Re: New Model F not putting out (key presses)
But why does the guide suggest holding the board vertically? By default most of my springs were seated well (with a few exceptions), but when you have the board do anything except lie horizontally it makes those springs stand directly out of the keyhole like little rows of uniform soldiers. Obvious...

Hi there!. I'm new to this great forum. I think the Wiki needs to have a standard footer that reads along these lines: "found a broken link on this page? report it HERE" leadign to a form that goes to a wiki page author or something... Because I was discovering this HID LIBERATION DEVICE project pa...

You're very close to doxxing someone (some might even say you already did).
Please stop it, it's rather daft to do it and even ruder to do it on this very forum.

Re: Advice on eBay purchase
It's odd thoough - the XTs I'm seeing on ebay all seem to be way more than $100. I've seen quite a few & I'm not seeing them go any where near as cheap as that yet. Perhaps I haven't been looking long enough - or could it be that the prices have taken a upward turn in recent times? https://www.ebay...

Re: Micronorth Keyboard
With Soarer's Converter I just get "rFF" on every keypress. And only with the TMK converter I can barely even use the use the keyboard. But even then it throws some errors. All other keyboards I've tested with this converter (AT and PS/2) are working with Soarer's and TMK. So I think there is somet...

Re: Micronorth Keyboard
I fixed the problem by uploading the ibmpc_usb firmware from the tmk repository to the device. But since the firmware seems pretty unreliable, I can't really use it. So what's the status now? It seems like it has "sticky" keys with Soarer's converter firmware but it works with a particular version ...

I think exactly this problem seems to happening to my XT Keyboard, does somebody know how to fix it correctly? Is it really just a grounding issue? Thanks for sharing what you have tried. I have the same problem , and as a result my XT keyboards have been shelved until further notice. The converter used to be internal, so I was actually planning on buying a project box to turn it into an external converter. I did recently acquire an oscilloscop...

Re: Historical question - when did rubber domes eat the world?
So far we had some discussion of how offices might have switched to rubber domes for quieter operation and lower price. However, for the home user it might also have been a step up even when keyboards still were a line item. I'm too young to really know about the range of personal computers and thei...

And like it or not, the Black Widow is what you have to "thank" for the modern resurgence of mechanical keyboards but that's a different post for a different topic. If it's in your price range: Motu M2 In my experience, it's the best sound device you can get for that kind of thing right now. If your headphones are not too hard to drive then is also has a very competent headphone amplifier. Measurements: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?thread...

Re: IBM XT F space bar removed...
Disassembling the whole keyboard is the classic way, but it's not for the faint of heart because then the spacebar keycap will compress its switch plate and give you trouble to close things again (though I wrote an article back in the day how to work around that with some fishing wire). Meanwhile so...

Whatever you do, don't pull off a model F's spacebar though, either you will need to disassemble the entire keyboard or carefully mod your spacebar keycap before it will be able to be properly seated again.

Re: Fixing The Model F's (XT/AT) Spacebar Stabilizer Design Flaw
Huh, I didn't know there was someone who wrote about drilling holes to reattach the space bar. When I wrote my guide with the fishing wire it was on how to keep that space bar flipper in its place when you were reassembling the internals with the space bar still mounted. Attaching the space bar late...

Was thinking it would be a cool concept to have a collective set of keyboards to which the community could rotate them every 2 weeks or so to try it out rather than finding and buying more and more keyboards. Re: What is my white whale keyboard?
Model M switches are ~10 grams heavier than Model F switches IIRC. Really? They feel lighter to me? Cheers, --Given The model F springs are lighter. The reason that the model M springs were changed is because they need to press hard enough on the membrane contact layers when the spring has buckled....

Oh, right, this was that person who was originally stating that if people were interested in the particular type of switches in a keyboard, they should ask the seller before closing the deal (and especially to check if the keyboard was modified). If the deal's done, tough luck. "Sure, it was made qu...

Re: Resin print keyboard parts factory
About the flipper, could it be that it doesn't work perfectly because the spring is not seated correctly on the little stem? When the spring buckles, it applies a "moment" (not sure if the translation is correct), and if it is not seated firmly, the buckling doesn't translate in a "moment" acting o...

If you're talking about that little metal plate clamping onto the cable: I'm pretty sure it's not connected to anything and is just meant to keep the cable inside. Only the little frayed wire with the loop on the end is connected to the cable's shield. Another question though: how are those resistor...
