I have a Desko here with MX Black switches, however do watchout for some as the buttons for the pointing stick are on the front, which is great for standing with a keyboard in front of you but not so great for sitting. You can see the buttons somewhat sticking out in the front in this picture: http:...

You guys are too serious business.

Why not have a mechanical keyboard stock wearing Comic Sans or Old English or even Papyrus? We could have fun giving those to graphic designers and typographers and such, I don't know of any that approve of the use of those.

Just curious, are those MX switches as mouse buttons? If so I'm not too sure how well that would work, the travel would be a bit too much for rapid clicking.

I've heard the older USB ones had not-too-great controllers. Probably fixed now, however the person I know that found the issues has disappeared off the face of the earth.

The issue I see with this is it'll be a pain for doing anything design related with. I frequently use the F keys and having no real F keys will make it a pain in the ass to use. I also hit the backspace key dead center out of habit from learning to type on a screwed up keyboard (backspace had no sta...

I have two PC-6300 keyboards (rebadged M24 for the US market) and neither work, hope this one works!

Purple modifier keys, as well as a proper ISO enter and some AltGR keys (of which I'm sure few people here would know what it does).

I'll take a better picture later, I have to go do some other stuffs right now and I don't have time to wait for my flash batteries to charge.

Hard to tell in a picture. Have any taken in the dark without flash or any light sources? Light bleed from the keyboard makes it a lot easier to tell.

I'm interested in the Black Petal. While I don't have a keyboard yet, I will be getting a Rosewill RK9000 soon which is a bit easier to carry to school (and people will like it better than buckling springs). Being able to use custom firmware to setup some of the odd macros I do with Photoshop\Illust...

Doing a web search for "IBM LPFK classiccmp" brings up a few results. The guys on the classiccmp mailing list have tried this in the past. This here has a linux driver and some slight information on connecting it to a computer (if you follow the link): http://www.classiccmp.org/pipermail/cctech/2010...

Going through and looking again I also spot:
Microbee (two different times)
ZX Spectrum
PC (or maybe an AT)\clone
2nd Compact Mac (may be the same with greenscreen work)
Power Glove Controller
and a bunch of floppies and other forms of storage of that time.

If not two Fn keys to get Fn lock, how about the Fn Lock on the right side? That's a bit more standard on almost every modern laptop, something most will be more used to using.

How about flatbed scanners? They tend to work well enough and provide even lighting. I just threw this together in about 15 minutes with keycaps I had here. Scanned them all. Scanning does work a bit better if you position them at least somewhat straight, I didn't bother doing that. My scanner doesn...

I do wonder who did the "professional" reviews on those, obviously they have quite low standards for "button feel" otherwise they would be giving that a 2.

People really should hire keyboard geeks to review all keyboards, then people will learn the truth.

You can wire the controller board directly to a teensy without the original cable, although it will be easier to cut a couple inches off the inside part of the cable and strip that to attach the Teensy to the controller.
