Nope, not quite the same. Give me a couple minutes and I can get some pictures, it's quite a stupid setup.

Foam and Foil Disks for a Keytronic-made Keyboard

A while ago I got a Compaq Portable I, however the keyboard they used is a (quite horrible) keytronic-made Foam-and-Foil keyboard. Unfortunately, after 28 years, a good amount of the foam has rotted to either not being tall enough to make contact or don't decompress after a keystroke. I'm curious to...

External cases for a Teensy 2?

Well, I figured that whenever I get the parts needed to build one of the converters Soarer created, I would love to have an external one that I could easily use for testing keyboards. The first thing I thought of was to make a 3D model of one and print it out on the school 3D printer. Here's the res...

The amp does make a difference, it's the reason that dollar store special portable AM\FM thing sounds worse than the cheapest home theatre systems using the same headphones. Wattage though is bullshit for the most part, you can market an amp as 1000W, but in reality it's probably nowhere near that, ...

Not sure if your programs support this, but I using Illustrator I can create outlines of the text (Type>Create Outlines) and then when I save the SVG the font looks the same as it did before hand as it's an object rather than just text. An example: http://goput.it/kym.svg http://goput.it/kym.svg Edi...

Just curious, is the resetting due to too little power going into the adapter? I have a Dual USB port to a single USB port adapter, with the sole purpose of providing more power to a USB device (one computer end is straight through, the other just for power) and I wonder if using a cable like that w...

What I mean by the problem though is it feels like someone replaced the spring below it with a sponge, as it takes significantly more force to make it work, whereas the other AT Model Fs I've used don't feel like I have to slam my hand into the key. Normally I can just use a light pressure (like any...

Alright, I got the key fixed (I'm typing on the board now), however the space bar is VERY stiff and spongy, which is quite annoying. It also goes down with a "thud" rather than a click. I never removed it, so is this here something else as easily fixable as holding the board upside down?

AT Model F with a mushy key

While cleaning up an AT Model F I noticed all the keys sound and work properly, except for the S key. When the S key is pressed it's just kind of a mush, with a higher pitched muffled sound rather than the sharp click of all the other keys, I've already ruled out that it's not the key caps, tried tw...

SDRAM won't fit that motherboard as far as I know, I believe that's 72-pin SIMMs. A GeForce 2 also is a few years too new for a Pentium, a pair of Voodoo 2s would be about as awesome as it gets.

That looks pretty good for a 1995-1996 gaming system, although I would suggest replacing the 1.2 gig hard drive with either a Compact Flash card via a CF to IDE adapter or a disk on module, as both are faster and more reliable than a hard drive as old as a 1.2 gig is.

That honestly looks great, are you building an old machine for a specific reason or just for fun? With the modified power supply like that it would also look great if you were to make (or find...?) an AT-style case that has a clear side, so people can see how great that looks.

Socket 7 + Intel 430VX chipset, has to be a Pentium, AMD K5 or K6, Cyrix (\IBM) 6x86 or MII or some similar chip.

So, it's either an old Pentium-class system, or you're doing something with one.

SSD speed depends on what you do, it would be pointless for me to have one except for battery life. If you never shut down (sleep mode\suspend to ram\name here) and never close the programs you use all the time there is no real point in having the speed as you'll never see it. If you are someone tha...

The button might be mapped in Windows to act as a "sleep" button, if you look under Start>Control Panel>Power Options there's a thing on the left that says something along the lines of what to do when you press the power button (can't tell right now, running Linux). If you change the button to shutd...

I do find the Model Fs a pain to type on, as I'm not used to the insanely changed layout on the PC\XTs, and the AT is mostly the same, but I'm not the biggest fan of the modifier keys having different positions, when compared to a modern United States keyboard layout.

One keyboard that's interesting is the space invader keyboards. The one I have will activate a key stroke by simply rubbing a finger across the top of it, just running a piece of paper over the top of the keys will activate most.
