With permission I am sharing (anonymously) feedback that someone sent me. I don't know much about the technical stuff mentioned here. I say it's better to slightly overpower hosting to anticipate an increase in users!

Re: Future of DT
Thanks for the links. Poking around the Cherry database, which is new to me, I see lots of specs laid out in infobox format for the keyboards but no context. It’s definitely a database but doesn’t strike me as a wiki. None of that would stick for me: I’m all about the stories.
It's not intended ...

I feel I have been completely forthright for my plans to keep things exactly the same outside of any bug fixes or other legal issues that need addressing for a site moving to US ownership. The benefit is for those who want the site to be kept exactly the same. As folks have discussed here before ...

Re: Future of DT
My guess is it goes for the asking price if we can get a group buy together in the next couple months, but if it becomes a year without a buyer the price may come down to what I've estimated. Just a guess!
In terms of having extra beyond the $15k if things turn out that way, I noted in the sign ...

I would be happy to coordinate a group buy for the site (I have coordinated some group buys before!).
Please answer me this:
You've speculated that "the final price may settle around $7.5k to $10k".
If you end up being correct about this - what is the exact amount of donations that you would ...

Perhaps your clone could help me with a query. I'd like a list of all DT posts with the text {size=1} in them (but with square brackets instead of curly braces), to track down the remaining edit-spam still festering in the forum. The search function here insists on searching for the word "size ...

It's a trip I've taken too many times to count. I think I viewed you and sixty's posts more on OTD than I did here on DT

What happened to OTD? That inspired the Deskthority name.
OTD became quieter and quieter over time, with a huge drop-off happening between 2013 and 2014. It still had sporadic posts as late as 2017, but at that point it was clearly no longer the busy, tight-knit community it once was. To put ...

Thanks for the advice! Keycaps are double shot so no needs for any mods. My only problem is that my g80 is WK :(
I must find a g80 WKL!

I found an old Olivetti KBD 2812 HBI (Cherry G81-3011) in very good conditions, keycaps are simply amazing!
Unfortunately I discover by myself how bad MY switches are! So I could keep only keycaps (putting them on g80-3000 I own) but... I felt in love with KBD 2812 case so I want to keep it!

And I'm disputing your dispute

My personal review of that personal review is it's bullshit. Model F tactility at only 70%? What, prey tell, ranks 80, 90 or 100? Crushing diamonds?

I haven't decided where I'd place the arrows. Easy enough to swap around with QMK though.

No.
Orange Alps are amongst the most common, as they're found in Apple keyboards - those being some of the most common vintage boards of all time.

Not quite sure what you mean. I reposted as I really don't think an auction sale with a single bidder on an obscure japanese site is really an accurate evaluation of anything's worth. I ended up digging around a bit and as far as recent(ish) sales that I've found, one came up for sale on Reddit ...
