Re: IBM 3278 Beam Spring

I'm really sorry if I'm doing terrible things community wise, you have to remember I have been here for 2 days and joined mainly to sell keyboard that has no value for me personally. Don't be sorry cKype. In fact, we're the ones that should be apologising. You've just witnessed the ugly side of the...

Re: Shit, I fell for it

That’s people though right? No, just this one particular person. "Read my listing wrong the first time? You fell for it, no cancellations, even if the request is immediate!". Nobody conducts business like that; it's a total scum move. Within the eBay guidelines? Sure. But scummy nonetheless. It's a...

Re: [WTB] Various Cherry keyboards, especially OLD-STYLE G80-3100

Bump! Still ESPECIALLY looking for an old style G80-3100, can offer trades or cash. If the Cherry logo key is missing like the G80-3100HAO below, it doesn't matter to me. I've managed to get a spare one to fill its place  I'm also not fussy at all about the condition, so long as everything'...

Re: What is with the cherry G81 misprints?

They're extremely rare, I've only seen a handful crop up myself out of thousands of G80/G81s. I'm sure you're correct, but are you sure they aren't the black MY Type 1 switches?

This is such an incredible find, I really can't congratulate you enough. One of the absolute nicest possible 2100s, and NIB to boot. I used to have (actual) dreams of finding stacks of these in 2015, sadly they never came true  Cherish that thing for as long as you have it (I'd keep it forever ...

I have studied closely what you have said, and again I welcome the feedback. I do feel that we will eventually get to a revision 2 which may more closely resemble "Cherry" key caps. I'm glad you took the time to read what I said thoroughly. I can only recommend that you continue to thoroughly read ...

Re: [IC] Aluminum Keycaps Custom Marking

Thanks for the feedback! The keycaps themselves are called RBT, not cherry, to clarify. Or did you mean the key caps to which I am comparing are not cherry? So, I slightly misunderstood your pitch. I thought you would be offering both RBT and Cherry profile. When I said "don't call that Cherry prof...

Re: [IC] Aluminum Keycaps Custom Marking

You should work on your models, they're ugly. And don't call that Cherry profile, it isn't.

I mean this in a critical way, I'm not trying to insult. I'm just getting tired of enterprising people coming along with half-baked ideas.

Stating the obvious here, but this is neither the Canadian bilingual nor the Canadian multilingual layout . The letters with diacritics barely even share positions with either. Other than these pictures, I didn't know this layout even existed. I'd like to see more of this, so I can document this va...

Do you need the R5 keys for full-size, TKL or 60%? I would only be using it for TKL personally, but full-size would be great. It was only a small thing, I didn't mean to derail the thread so much when I suggested it  I don't think the steep profile of R5 is for everyone, but I think there's a ...

Anyone got side pics of this profile? https://i.imgur.com/92r5zCg.png R4/B-profile on the left, R5/A-profile on the right. It's worth noting that R4/B-profile is also used for the shift row. It's also worth noting that the spacebar has its own profile, and remains identical regardless of whether R4...

Re: [IC] GMK ThinkCaps

@photekq Is A profile higher at the front edge? If so, I won’t likely like it, but options are always good. You won’t be alone in your preference (whatever it is!) Yeah, A-profile/R5 is the steeper bottom row profile that was used on most winkeyless vintage Cherry boards, like that G81-3100SDU you ...

Re: [IC] GMK ThinkCaps

Thank you! I take it that it's a serious request? :) Yeah, A-profile is a bit niche, but there are plenty of people out there who much prefer it to B-profile. Both in terms of aesthetics and haptics. Without A-profile support I'd consider buying one set for a HHKB layout board. With A-profile suppo...

Re: Wholesale lot of keyboards!

Sure for someone who fancies keycaps or the case it makes sense. But the keyboard in itself is an outright shame in the keyboard community (primarily for those horrible switches). I've always had a sweet spot for the 3077. It was the first 3000 variant that really caught my eye, the case colour and...

Interesting perspective, one that I haven't heard before and one that I'm not sure many others share. I myself have never typed on one of these older G80s. Re: 1800 layout keyboard UK advice

I would go with the Leopold. It has better build quality. Leopolds are more rigid and heavier than Cherry G80s thanks to the metal plate. If you like the typing feel/sound of a rigid keyboard, then the Leopold could be a great choice. They're good keyboards - no doubt about that. ...And vice versa,...
