They seem to follow they beamspring brethren into 4 digit territory :( https://www.ebay.com/itm/Exceedingly-RARE-1974-IBM-3277-Micro-Switch-Keyboard-/163341797961?nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true On the other hand, to give some (crude) sort of upper bound, just the assembly without case has not been...

Re: [IC] A true GH/DT custom keyboard kit - What do you want to see?

Even though I'm not an alps user I would definitely like to make it an option. However, for prototyping I'll be sticking with MX. I imagine I'll have to get a few prototypes made before I'm happy with the finished product, and 10+ prototypes for some smaller components used for a new mounting method.

How exciting. HHKB layout means true HHKB (with 6u spacebar), or MX HHKB (with 7u spacebar)?
I should've said "OG compatible" HHKB : Image

Re: [IC] A true GH/DT custom keyboard kit - What do you want to see?

I never forgot about this... I just had to go for a while. I didn't show the internals of this, but it was top mount with rubber on the top/bottom of the plate rim. I was always curious to see how rubber/other damping materials would affect typing feel in a custom and I seem to remember me and riot ...

Re: Cherry MY-3100SBU (EARLYPRODUCED) HELP!

Actually, I probably should've looked at your photos more carefully. It's pretty clear what the B means. Look at your card reader. It's shorter than the ones I've posted. As I showed above, it was common for Cherry to use the middle letter to distinguish between card reader types on the G81-3100 ser...

Re: Cherry MY-3100SBU (EARLYPRODUCED) HELP!

Also, I should clarify since I saw your post in another thread about the middle letter corresponding to switch type: that only applies for Cherry G80 keyboards with MX switches. Yours is a G81 with MY switches, which were only offered in one type during each era of manufacture. On G81s that middle l...

Re: Cherry MY-3100SBU (EARLYPRODUCED) HELP!

Makoohr, thanks for the pictures. As I thought, they're standard A-profile ANSI dyesubs. As I explained to you in PM : Yes, the G81-3100S B U has never been seen before, but there is no difference between a G81-3100S B U and a G81-3100SDU or G81-3100SAU that would be of interest to any collector. Re: Cherry G80-5000HAMUS

The blockers are just pieces of square plastic with plastic pins going through the PCB. They're melted on like rivets at the back. The regular PCB holes/pads are still there, but whether or not they can be populated with switches and used without further modification is another question.

Any with A as the third letter, e.g HAAUS will have no blockers.

I have no experience with ergodox, if I had to design a set it would be a guesstimate. I've made an ergodox kit for granite but DSA is a flat profile so definitely simpler. If any Ergodox user wants to design the ergo kit I'm more than happy to include it. In the mean time DevTty_TKL_C1R03.jpg Prou...

I haven't been able to find any free 3D CAD software that isn't awful. I would recommend finding some way of acquiring Solidworks, Siemens NX or Autodesk Inventor. I like the flat bottom row and spacebar, without question. Angled spacebars either present an uncomfortable ridge to the thumb, or require being rotated around so that its angle no longer matches that of the other bottom row keys. All of that nonsense is solved by a flat spacebar and flat modifiers...
